Awesome vid, daughter has been enjoying your vids, don't know why you're not way higher in subs, great info, very little filler and easy to understand...
Best part of the wrist snap is to not wrist snap. The proper way is to have the proper whip action with a proper release point. Nobody at a high level "snaps" their wrist at the end. Nobody.
Wrist snap. Im trying to learn enough i can help my daughter with hitting. Lol. I dont know if i need to throw under handed to her for batting practice but figure it will help her more if she can see motions of the pitcher. Does it matter?
Great question. I’m of the opinion that throwing underhand is preferred so she can practice seeing the release at the hip and recognizing balls vs strikes like she’ll see in games! I hope this helps and thanks for asking! ☺️🥎
Thanks for watching and thanks for the suggestion!! I’ll keep that in mind for future videos, but here are some videos where you can see me pitching (where I do use a wrist snap): Video 1: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NhLl20LzjWQ.htmlsi=Qdu7h8F2JqbLFjUF Video 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CkIP4v5zfls.htmlsi=tO8WU4dB5wQsiG2R
Good question. Practicing often will certainly strengthen your pitcher’s wrist snap, but if you’re looking for other ways, I always squeeze these putties to strengthen my hands and fingers. They come in different resistances so as you get stronger, you can progress to a harder putty: amzn.to/3TDTQXU
Wrist Snap :) Awesome Video. I am going to share this with my pitchers. So there is no excuse, not knowing what I am talking about next time, right? ;))
Check out this video where I go over how to grip a fastball and what spin we’re looking for: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UNiOfXF48Zg.htmlsi=g8UafMQVHV7-WrTY
Wrist snap. My daughter player modified for the first time this season as a 7th grader and really took to pitching, just with no whip or snap. She found a ton of success simply under handing it. But I’ve been trying to teach her to whip it now she’s gearing for her first travel tryout and I think this video will help amazingly.
wrist snap, nice video our couch had us doing this on one lesson but never have us a drill. this is great TY ! It did make a huge differnce so you. are spot on !
Wrist snap. Finger snap, ginger snap, snap snap. New to the channel. A duration or number of sets would always be helpful and upper-body control videos would help
Thank you for watching! 🥎 I tend to not give strict reps/duration numbers so coaches feel freedom to add these drills as they see fit! If you are looking for guidance, though, you can always email me and I’m happy to help! Or this video may answer some questions, too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FIzoFQdwuJ4.htmlsi=CSDh7Mbup7BNAn-W
@@plusultrapitching thank u! but i’m pretty upset with the first game though because i kept forgetting to follow through so my pitches would go high, so they would steal home, but in the 2 inning my dad reminded me to follow all the way through and i was striking them out!
Thank you so much for this my pitchers have been struggling with the snap they believe they have to push the ball out of their hand because their moms told them that’s how to prevent injuries. You’re the best this will come in handy for my lady slingers!
Thanks for watching! I’m so glad these tips were helpful for you 🤗 now you know you can do it, and you know what fixes to make to get back on track! Good luck with the rest of your season and keep me posted! 💪🏼
Whenever I’m doing my full wind up I find it hard to find when to wrist snap and follow through it feels like I’m hesitant to follow through once I wrist snap, or I would find my self not wrist snapping and just following through . Any tips on to put those two together ?
Great question. And one I also struggled with when working on a long follow through. The best way I’ve found is to pause at the snap next to your hip and feel that position. Then, do the same thing and add a follow-through. Finally, try to smooth them together
Good question! I don’t have any videos covering this in particular (yet) but I do touch on foot positioning in the beginning of the pitch, which could be helpful: How your FOOT POSITIONING can set you up for SUCCESS! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VclwtlgeRe8.html
Thanks for your question! I can’t speak for every coach out there, but I can speak for myself… I don’t teach to flex the wrist back because it puts the joint in an more tense position, which may lead to injuries down the line. It also doesn’t necessarily help with the way I teach to snap the ball, starting with your palm facing up in Power K position. I hope this helps! 💪🏼🥎
@@plusultrapitching Ive wondered about curling the wrist as well. Noticed that alot of pitchers from the west coast seem to do this and felt it helps with spin as well but daughter was recently told by our pitching coach not to do this bc she wants her to have an extremely loose arm. I can see how it could put undue stress on the joint though.
You definitely want your arm to be loose when you pitch! I’m not sure I am properly picture the release you’re talking about, but you’re welcome to send me an email and discuss there!
Hello and thanks for your question! I prefer 4 fingers on the ball, but it’s a personal preference. If you feel more comfortable with 3 fingers holding the ball, that’s fine too!
thanks for the feedback ! If you happened to watch the video you’d see the “wrist snap” isn’t the sole focus of the video :) what’s your preferred way of pitching ?
None he just an angry hater... I'm a beginner pitcher and this worked for also a previous i watched said sit still and practice ball rotation and this video added more. Love it tubal you
