Excellent review, best I've seen for this knife, and I've watched quite a few. I especially appreciated your showing how sharp the blade is right out of the box (isn't sharpness the KEY for any knife?), the balance in the hand, actually measuring to show the specs, and taking one scale off. I immediately subscribed to your channel!

I bought one of the old Flash models a few years back. I hated it at first. But I came to respect it after I beat on it like crazy using it as a bench knife. Held up well. This one is much better looking so I'll give it a go.

This just makes me want a terminus xr in the red g10 but in an 8.5 inch or so configuration

SOG seems to be stepping up their game. If this knife wasn’t assisted opening I would buy it, who knows I might anyways. Enjoyed your review as always.

SOG's been catching my eye lately.

Nicely designed, including the packaging....kinda Scandanavian. Could be something you'd find at an IKEA or at the Metropolitan Museum of Art gift shop. If it didn't have assisted opening, it would be an attractive kitchen knife.

How would you go about fixing one of these that doesn’t want to open? Assist open won’t work and almost need pliers to pull blade out. Sog also won’t honor the warranty

I’ve been going back and forth on SOG’s new offerings! LTK, in your opinion, that button that locks the blade closed, does it create a hotspot while using the knife?

Was yours actually Cyan? Mine was baby or sky blue. On the website you can see in some of the pictures that they colorized the pics to look more greenish blue. Also have you done any tests on SOG's Chinese and Tiawan(this knife) made knives as far as if they are actually D2 and S35VN and the correct hardness? I bought a Terminus XR in D2 and S35VN when they first came out and they did not seem to hold an edge like D2 and 35VN should. Any thoughts/findings on that? Also your thoughts on buying SOG China knives Vs buying straight China knives? I wish SOG would make ALL their knives in the US, heck they charge enough for them that they could!

Ixnay on the spring assist. Remove the blade coating and it's a decent folder. Just a little Ikea looking. Those springs look like a frustrating failure point when it comes time to replacing them. More wrong than right here.😕

I got one of these, and a terminus xr that would open. I was able to the the xr terminus by playing with the pivot and oiling it. The flash would not open at all. Return to sog , for them to tell me they couldn’t fix it, so gave me my money back. I think that’s the last sog I’d buy. Two rejects back to back, different models.

I was surprised usually those locks work both ways one to prevent opening and 1 to make it like a fixed blade. Odd knife. Sure has a bunch of springs in that knife.

The jimping is so sharp that it hurts. A big no, no. I love my old SOG Twitch and Flash way better.

Maybe they should have called it the sog silly system I've got an idea why dont sog make a decent new design knife thats original,quality not spring assisted instead of being lazy and just changing the colour and adding pointless features that are cheap and nobody wants look at kershaw and crkt there nocking it out the park with great designs for less money. I’ve never owned a SOG. Purely because I couldn’t look at one without throwing up a little. They’ve always been hideous. And that branding! No one should be billboarding their name on things that ugly. They always looked like gas station knives. But...this knife. This is the first attractive SOG that I’ve ever seen. The materials are right. I’m debating it. Never thought I’d be considering buying a SOG. I do agree with the other comments. If this was an auto, I’d have already bought it.
