Recently found a great deal on the American made SOG Pillar. This is definitely a hall of fame in the knife world and I understand why after a day of use. I share my first thoughts on it after putting it through a day of fire building, land clearing and food prep.

Thank you for watching. I was pleasantly surprised by the pillar as I have used it more. Beefier than a typical field knife and carries very flat against the body. Only grip is that it is a touch long for EDC. Prefer the tellus fx for that. Cheers

I bought the blackout version back in July 11th 2023 for $120 from MidwayUSA but I didn't like the sheath so I bought a custom kydex sheath.

@@mtnboy123 It's held up pretty good & the coating feels like a DLC coating (diamond like coating).

Are the pillars Saber grinded or hollow grinded?

@@mtnboy123 If water gets inside the handle of S35VN steel, will it rust? Should I remove the handle periodically to clean it?

As you can see in the video, after a day of moderate use there was no discernible effect
