Man had two loved both couldn't find the in plain blade at that time I ruined the serrations on both but great littel knife

I have just bought one...with saw jimping and half saw blade...I could not find the model on the shop at first...a bit of confusion in the names in shops🤣

Why do they put that bumpy bit on the top of the blade? What's the purpose? Just for extra grip?

Yes, extra grip when placing your thumb or forefinger there. The rasp can also be used for other things like filing some notches or scraping bark for tinder. This would also cause a tougher wound channel in combat
