Decent fish-cleaning blade profile, ease of deployment, lanyard hole that's perfect for hanging it from the pack straps on a retractable gerber tether and a built-in fishing line cutter. Gotta keep the D2 from getting rusty but this would make for a great fishing knife, particularly on sale.
Already had one just like your example. I bought the tanto version in red and black. I just love the Trident AT-XR. I find SOG thumb studs quite sharp but they work very well in the Trident with so much room between them and the scales.
I’ve had this blade for a little over 2 years at this point. I use it everyday multiple times and more times than I could count I thought I was gonna break it, but not the case. This knife is sturdy and retains an edge relatively well, the blade hasnt moved a millimeter, I haven’t had to tighten it once. It’s a great knife. The knife is a little light and makes it seem a little weaker, but that’s not the case. Great knife.
I had one. HAD. Big mistake getting rid of. I also have the forest green Aegis. Both kick open like a dang mule. The Trident the most. I miss that knife. It's so so well done. It's a hundred $ knife and then some. The cryo heat treatment on this d2 is unbelievable. You gotta see in person. I say though they call them assisted there basically autos. Not otf. But automatic. That's how hard these assisteds fire. We all know a good auto bout 200 minimum. This knifes the truth. You will love it. I'm buying another Friday.
