This episode features Soichi Terada, composer, arranger and one of Japan's house music pioneers.
Under the beat of his music, we will learn more about his career, which was marked by music creation for the Ape Escape game or encounters with the iconic DJ Larry Levan.
We will head first to Wakasu Park, on the outlines of Tokyo, a place Terada used to visit during his pursuit of inspiration, before heading to Koenji, where Terada did countless performances under his alter-ego project Omodaka.

Wow this is a surprise, never expected an episode on Soichi Terada. His music for Ape Escape 1 blew me away as a kid and still does to this day.

The drums used in Ape Escape PS1 for levels like Frosty Retreat we're the most powerful drums I've ever witnessed in a video game. Ridiculously talented.

Definitely one of my all time favorite (Japanese) artists, who i didn't even know composed music to one of my favorite youth games (Ape escape). While i usually like dark dystopian music, there is something to his sound that simply radiates genuine happiness and innocence to me, which never fails to put a smile on my face and give me that warm fuzzy feeling when you know "all is well". Thanks a lot for sharing. He seems like a beautiful soul.

I think the vast majority of Japanese people are extremelly humble and for me it's one of the many reasons why i love them so much. Unlike the majority of Westerners who like to boast with every chance they get...

I met Soichi after his gig in Sydney NYE 2021 and I can honestly say he is the most kind hearted man I’ve ever met who’s truly in touch with life. Hoping we meet someday again !

5.24 I used to play Sunshower during warm up house sets a couple of years ago, real timeless track. Love his house tracks and his work on the Ape Escape games was great too :)

Man, classic Japanese musical influence in contemporary sound is just brilliant. His Sumo Jungle album is a masterpiece. The eclectic nature of Japanese elements mixed with Western jungle beats make for some tantalizing compositions.
