Hello friends, this is the third lecture on climatology. In this video, we will learn about the radiation from the sun and its electromagnetic spectrum. Hello mam...I would like you to thank you so much Two days back I had my examination of MPPSC.. There were almost 9-10 question of geography. The distance from sun to earth=149598023 km Speed of light 299792.458 km/s So it takes= 149598023/299792.458 second = 499 second = 8 min 19 seconds.

Sun get it's energy from it's core because of fusion of hydrogen into helium. Solar radiation is the transfer of energy by electromagnetic wave motion which are in form of short wavelength. Incoming solar radiation is known as insolation. OR Solar radiation received or intercepted by earth's surface in form of short wavelength is known as insolation. Albedo is the percentage of solar radiation reflected back into space by an object or surface in form of short wavelength.

Trick to remember Albedo is that. The term Albedo similar to अलविदा it means going. And same thing happened in the definition of Albedo ie. percentage of solar radiation reflecting back...

hello ma'am . it was very useful lecture but can you explain more about UV radiations like their are 3 types for the same -UV -A,B&C ,which type is absorbed by the ozone ,which type reaches earth surface ,which are harmfull and cause cancer etc ..

Ankit, among the 3 types of uv radiation uv-B is harm full and it's absorbed by ozone and ozone protect us from it.. ,*stratospheric ozone absorb uv-B .. *If uv-B amount increases in solar radiation then it can cause damage to plants and animals. I hope u will get ur answer..
