I have made virtually the same set for our Tag. I installed the charge controller on the inside of the hood for the battery and propane tank using Velcro. It stayed in place during our trip from California to Glacier NP. I also reversed the Zamp connector. Normal wiring is red-positive, black-negative. Zamp reversed so that you would buy their charging system. I'm planning on downsizing the propane tank and re-positioning the battery so I can store my dual 50 watt panels in this compartment.
stevebrannon69 Hi hope you’re still checking this. I have a tag trailer and do not have a solar kit. I have a 100w panel a charge controller which I will Velcro in the same compartment you speak of ( great minds think alike haha) and have a mc4 to sae adaptor with a reverse polarity adaptor to avoid any splicing. My question to you and the poster of this video is.. is it standard for tags to have the fuses already wired in the battery end? and I also want to make sure I have the order of things right before my install. 1 wire mc4 to sae in the battery side of the controller. 2 connect panel to panel side of the controller. 3 plug in sae plug ( reverse polarized) and place panel in sunshine. Does that sound right or am I missing something? Finally when done disconnect sae from camper disconnect mc4 from panel and store. I’d appreciate a green light or any error found. Thank you!
