Ahhhhh I'm so happy you got to hear Lee Hong Ki's voice! He is the lead singer of FT Island and they are such a fantastic band that's been around for a long time, hence why she called him 'ancestor'. I think you'd love their music, and Hong Ki has my favorite voice in all of kpop!
Hahaha the ancestor Lee Hongki is the vocalist of rock band FT Island. He's pretty close to Mamamoo because of the early Mamamoo sometimes doing promotion at Lee Hongki radio show. And recently he and Solar did their musical Mata Hari together 👏🏻👏🏻

So cool that you reacted to this. It's such a great series but since it's so casual and not an official release I think it tends to get overlooked. These part change vids are basically jam sessions only with great singers instead of musicians. I don't think Solar knew Lee Hong Gi very well before they did Mata Hari but I'm glad they got to be friends through the show. You can see how much they enjoyed singing together and goofing around. What is it about Solar that makes all her friends love to tease her? lol
They know each other before, mamamoo went to honkira several times and Hong Ki said they met before in one of the interviews. Also two members of mamamoo were on a show back in thevdays with Jaejin and Seunghyun and Jaejin told her that Hong Ki asked him, is she as good of a singer as me?
My Spotify list of FTISLANDs songs live that I actually listen to regularly is more than 6 hours long, and not one song is a duplicate… These guys are awesome, and I would love to see you go down THAT rabbit hole… 😆
He naturally has reverb in his throat its crazy how amazingly his voice travels and I love his vocal tone so much, I've seen clips of him singing live and his vocals are so gooood, Hong Gi is my favorite Korean rocker!
Both are such talented singers but my favourite aspect of this is probably how much fun they were having. Also "vocals for days" is a fitting way to describe Hongki- FtIsland has done some lovely ballads as well as some amazing songs leaning more towards rock and he pulls both off equally well :D
I think it's time for you to react to FT Island! I highly recommend Wind, PRAY, Unthinkable and Severely. You need to hear Hongki's vocals and the goodness of his band's songs! Thanks for reacting.
Sir you cannot step away from Lee Hong Gi now that you have heard a tiny, tiny, tiny piece of his masterful voice. The man is known as Mr. Emotion. Best voice in Korea.

Please react to FT Island's song "Love Sick" which is the first song covered by Solar here. You would be amazed by Hong Ki's representation of the song because Solar's voice was lack of sadness and desperation.
You have to check out FTIsland! HongKi's vocals are so killer. You won't find anyone else like them in the kpop world they were basically the first band to be accepted in the kpop scene...and they started adding more and more elements to their songs so that the public would accept them. S. Korea doesn't usually love rock. They are also very active in Japan as Japan loves rock music. haha
😂 old very talented friends coming together, they were both on a marriage reality show back in the day called "we got married" solar was married to eric nam (very dope kpop singer) and honki married mina (popular japanese actress) he sang for her before the show ended, and during the wedding photo shoot he sang while mina played piano, it was awesome to see
Solar vocal is getting better and better esp after Matahari. I really love this series. This is the 4th eps if I not mistaken. She do also part change with Changsub of Btob and Akmu. Please react also to this.
