FTIsland is not K-pop group and they don't consider them selfs as idols( Hongkis , The main singers own words in a interview). They are a rock band (K-Rock). I think Hongkis voice is one of top 3 in Korea. His emotional and raspy voice hit deep in ones soul. Thank you for reacting to FTIsland. They sure deserve more recognition.
Cool reaction! Yes, ftisland’s vocalist, Hongki is recognized as one of the best. His live performances are even better, as crazy as that sounds! For starters, ftisland is a rock band that debuted in 2007, comprising of Jonghoon(Leader, lead guitarist and keyboard), Hongki(vocalist), Jaejin (bassist, sub vocal), Seunghyun (guitar,sub vocal,rap) and Minhwan(drummer). If you dig rock, have a listen to “Pray” and “Take Me Now” and you’ll see how they aren’t joking around. For the best band experience, I would suggest you look up their live concert perf. The normal performances on broadcast stations such as music bank etc force bands to handsync as they aren’t equipped enough (not that the bands are not good enough. It’s a system that favors dance groups what can we do). Also, in Still Love You, the other guy (hweeseung) singing is also in a band called Nflying. Ftisland and nflying are both under FNC Entertainment which is famous for housing bands. They currently have ftisland, cnblue, nflying and honeyst. Outside of their company, there are many bands as well like Day6, drug restaurant etc... Outside of music, ftisland is a crazy but fun group. They are really variety gold and even have a 19+ variety show called “Coming Out Ftisland”. They are definitely not your standard fluffy idols LOL. Looking back, WIND wasnt appreciated enough as a masterpiece. FTISLAND's attempt to combine their old sound with their developed style gave out such beautiful result. I really loved that twist in the middle where they picked up and went hard.
FT ISLAND is the first band (idol) in the industry, the first band that actually have succeeded, sadly in Korea prefers the dance groups, but in Japan they're really famous, and actually all the members sing pretty good, but HongKi is the lead vocalist, and one of the best in the industry. I recomend you to watch "we are" in that song all the members sings and "shadow" Full ver. The vocalist is Lee Hong Ki he's also and actor, DJ and songwritter. I saw Wind live 3 days ago... I can die in peace now! I still can't believe it! It was so so so beautiful especially the first part where Hongki played the guitar and let us fans sing Wind together. After that he sang the whole song again and the ending part was again sung together with us fans. I cried, my heart couldn't take it. I wan't to see the magain so bad!

Just recently became a huge fan of this group and reading others comments helps me out with who is all in the band and what they do. I also really loved this reaction to this song. It was by far my favorite out of the other reaction videos I have seen. GET KOOKED They have a great variety of good songs. I listen to them every time I’m driving in to work and on my way home. The songs that I really enjoy from them is Pray, Shadow, Take Me Now, What You Want, Travel, Out of Love. The list goes on and on. They have such a great style of music. They have some slow songs like Wind and some crazy good songs like Pray.
FT Island is one of FNC Ent.'s artists & FNC has some bands which each has good vocal & instruments skill. You can check on other FNC's bands. They are really good musicians cause they writte, compose and/or produce their songs even they did new arrangement for their songs. And FNC's artists are good in live performance, their live performances are better than the studio version😊
Lee Hongki is the lead singer of the first Korean idol band in Korea : FTISLAND. FTISLAND had 5 members and debuted in June 2007 and are the first artists of their agency FNC Entertainment. Lol this is the moment you realized K rock existed! They may have been manufactured by the Kpop industry but they're a legit band. The boys have been writing their own music for years. I know this video is 2+ years old now, but have you heard Jaejin (the bassist) from FT Island sing as well? He has the purest most angelic voice ever. It's a nice compliment to Hong Ki's incredible, insane, dramatic husky tenor. I think this rock group has two of the best vocalists ever. edited to add: the others do have pretty charming voices, they sometimes get some smaller lines or background vocals, but are primarily the band. obviously it's kpop culture, so sometimes you'll find members starring in variety shows, dramas, etc.

They are really different of course)) They are k-rock, not k-pop (they had some pop songs, but it wasn`t their genre, and now they are happilly performing what they always wanted to - rock). Actually Hongki is not the only one who sings, but he is the main, that`s right. They`ve been around for 10 years now, so that sure makes them veterants, and they are know for their attitude too - drinking on stage or before it, revealing each other`s secrets on TV, skipping practice, always being open about their relationships (actually Minhwan, the drummer, is engaged, the wedding is in October, and he`s already a happy father, can you imagine something like that for ordinary idol?), well...basically they`re being rock - they`re insane and that`s what we like them for (aside songs).They were the first singers of FNC entertainment, so they had to struggle everything that pioneers struggle with, not to mention that rock is not a popular genre in Korea, so unfortunatelly they got much less attentions, than they deserve. Welcome to the wonder that is Lee HongKi! His vocals are sooooooooo amazing. FTIsland is an actual rock band who have been around since 2007. Three of the members actually have incredible vocals. You need to react to more of there stuff. Also react to ONEUS and ONEWE - they are brother groups, Like FTIlsand, ONEWE are a band whereas ONEUS is a group, but they both have amazing vocalists. Worth checking out. Also if you love Hongki’s voice, he has also released solo songs.
They all sing. I know this is an old post but they are so good and yes it’s a band not a group, they have come back as only 3 but I do love their new song unthinkable for their new album lock up. Also try listening to the Japanese version too.
Thanks for taking my request. FTIsland isn't a Kpop group. "Kpop" is simply short for "Korean Pop" as in Pop music. If anything, FTIsland is "KRock" since they are a Rock band. I'm not sure how you and your friend feel about Rock music but if you like it and want to see more from them then I HIGHLY recommend "Shadows". Wind is one of my favorite Kpop songs, no lie (even though it's technically Krock, but tomato tomahto). If you're shook by the members playing instruments, I'd totally recommend checking out some Day6, too. I'd suggest Letting Go or I Wait to start out with.

Yes he's the main vocal even the others can sing as well but they more likely to play the instruments and Hong Ki is the one who sings in their group..and yes he has a very unique voice like husky kind of voice with an incredible high ranges
If you like good vocals, you need to react to Wheesung and park hyo shin, those two are kings, any songs of them are really good, but park hyo shin has a song that he sings on live in the MV (wild flower), and my favorite song of wheesung is "even thought of marriage". You are really going to enjoy it
so the guy with the light brown hair is the main vocal, hongki. the piano-man is jonghoon, the guy that is 'into it' is jaejin (he is crazy af but really funny) the drums-guy is minwhan und the guitarist is seunghyun. Surprisingly, Korean music includes genres other than pop! "Kpop" is a term fashioned for mainstream 'pop culture' artists in Korea that tend to follow a certain 'formula.' In America people just call all Korean music "Kpop" but that is just so incorrect. In Korea, only boy bands and girl groups of a specific entertainment culture are called "kpop." There are rock singers, ballad singers, rnb, hip hop, etcetc.
It's obviously a k rock band! They're under FNC entertainment. As in western rock bands, they have one official vocalist but there's jae jin as a "sub vocalist" ( he fought for the main vocalist position along with hong ki who sang a veeeeery difficult song that made jae jin accept him and refrain) . Songhyun also can sing (like opera sing)!
well, they're not really k-pop they're more k-rock and you should check them out more, they got once a thingy saying that they were the most playful idols that exist or something (I don't remember it fully anymore) and they said there was a chance

there are actually many k-ballads but not that many from idols. of course exo's winter specials, btob also has many great ballads they were recently very succesful with missing you in korea. for ft island i recommend madly. super junior's kyuhyun is like the korean prince of ballads all his songs are great. non idol singers would be sung sikyung, lee seungi or kim bumsoo plus many more
I forgot to mention female singers: i don't really know many female idols. ailee has a song called singing got better it is amazing, other than that their is a singer called sohyang she is amazing i also recommend desert island by ali it is a performance on immortal song and i just really loced it.
