Im building a persistent 1.19.2 world that i would love to add this too as a compliment to Greenfield and The uncensored library. I'm building a world after i watched What Dreams may Come so i want to have a TARDIS and T60 battle armor in my afterlife. i would LOVE to upgrade this using Create to make the cranes and the monorail functional as im planning to do with Greenfield to make functional elevators, escalators etc throughout the city, automated delivery trucks etc. Your solarpunk city would make a nice Elf or Faewild capital city perhaps. Im using Create Above and Beyond as a starter to create a world that a video game could happen in rather than "a video game world". Everything from any RPG out there, random quests, NPCs, crafting, trading and all, just no specific plot.
He also does some really cool procedural/algorithmic program based Minecraft building which you can see him do in some of his other videos, so I wonder if some of that was used in this build too? edit: go watch his video "How I Make Self-Building Minecraft Creations". He even eludes to this build right at the end of it, so I don't think he's deleting blocks and reversing the footage here at all. Which in my opinion makes this 10x cooler!
You have a good eye! This method of timelapse was inspired by Timtenth Buildings. It seemed to be the best option for this video because the actual build process was pretty messy😁
X after going outside for a sec and seeing the banner identifying them as The Gaslight Tavern: “Ok, I just went outside to double check, and I'm pretty sure this is The Gaslight Tavern.” The Gaslight Tavern: “No, sir. This is not The Gaslight Tavern. What you saw out there must surely be an advertising banner of them. You may see some of those all across the city.”
X: “Why I'm just watching you guys serve drinks on a bar over there, and people enjoying more drinks on their tables, then?” The Gaslight Tavern: “I can understand your confusion, sir. You see, we're having a family reunion in here, and everyone brought the beverages we're enjoying with them. We haven't seen each other in a long time, and we're happy to do so. If you excuse us, we would like to keep enjoying our reunion. You know the way out. Please.”
@@ellathompson3090 yeah, there's no such thing, are you guys alright? Do you need a memory reset? It's in The skyline tower? They can help you. (There's no such thing as the skyline tower in the build)
I appreciate that your interpretation of Solarpunk involves a lot of smaller, colourful, almost low-tech builds. A lot of Solarpunk art tends to show off giant gleaming white skyscrapers, but that's not JUST what Solarpunk is about. To me, it's about low environmental impact, community-enabling spaces, and I think places like "The Delta District" show that off perfectly, and are perfectly balanced against other more innovative structures like those in "The Zenith Zone." Fantastic work!
Solar punk really isn’t even about solar, environmental impact, or technological structures, it is literally just the emergent architecture and style that accompanies spaces built with a decentralized power grid and the philosophy of self-sufficiency.
Not only did you build the city, but you built lore, story line, character. Absolutely amazing work of art! Most underrated builder that I am glad I subbed too.
@@auroralong5437solar punk is an aesthetic and, regardless of what lefty commentator channels say, the abolition of capitalism is not a prerequisite for this style of architecture. Solar punk was not originally co-opted by leftists, it was simply an appreciation of futuristic Ghibli-esc visuals and the optimistic idea that civilization and nature can have a harmonious relationship.
@@thehucklebillyfennYES! THANK YOU!!!!! I love the style but hate that it's been adapted by idiot communists who don't understand that capitalism just needs a few tweaks, not an abolition.
@@websdaspider8811 Yeah you're right it's not really about hating capitalism, it's just against big corporations ruling everything, which is a small part of it. Solarpunk is mostly just about making peace with the environment
One of the major problems I have with Minecraft City builds is how lifeless and abandoned they feel. Thank you for adding the villagers in at the end. It truly makes it feel like a true City
This build makes me wish we lived in a world where we built structures based on how they can service a community or city as opposed to how much money they can extract from their citizens. Like “oh, yeah, we could totally build sources of electricity, water, food, and housing that could be affordable and paid for by the government via taxes.” It makes me wish for a better world and inspires me to see that happen, which I think truly makes this a work of art.
that's what solarpunk is all about, it's a vision of a brighter future, and if we work together to be more sustainable and connected then who knows, there might actually be a city like this.
The highest building show what is most important to a community, and here the park is one of the highest buildings showing that leisure is a priority in this world, love it
Hard same! I don't even play Minecraft, but this city kicks ass. Been trying to learn Blender so might instead use this as a reference to try and recreate in 3d or something
That's no longer Minecraft, but pure art. Without exaggeration, it's the most beautiful megastructure I've ever seen. The attention to detail is insane and not geared towards 'bigger is better' like other megastructures. Keep up the great work!
As many have said, this really is the best building i've ever seen on minecraft, not only is it the best looking one, the amount of realistic planning, world building and history is seriously nuts. This really is the kind of art that helps build up a movement, and I'm so happy I was able to find this today. I got so inmersed in the video that hearing "nether portal" hit me like a bucket of ice lol
This looks amazing! It is, by far, the best solarpunk build I've seen to date! I always think, "You'd have to be super-rich or super-crazy to want to live in a solarpunk city." But this looks like a place where someone could actually live!
True! I feel like a major pillar of solarpunk is the focus on individuality and that being evident in it's appearance. What area of Vesta Verde do you think you would live in?
@@SludaBuilds Wouldn't necessarily say individuality so much as freedom, or like, anarchy, more being able to chart whatever sort of path or do whatever you want, than individualism. I think solarpunk is a fair chunk more collective than how we exist now, irrevocably tied with the ideas of eco-socialism and anarchism.
Not even kidding, this would be the perfect place for a semi-futuristic visual novel / love story. Hell, just a simulation you can freely roam around in that's populated with NPCs would be amazing. Great Job.
Hah, now I want to see a VR exploration of this one! And agreed. The lore would make such a fantastic base for thousands, if not millions of stories contained within and around it. Might just get inspired by that myself!
That sounds like the end of Free Guy. That was the idea of the dude and the girl that make a couple in the end at first, before Taika came in and stole their thing and turned it into that game for obnoxious trolls lol. They actually wanted the players being immersed in this bustling, evergreen futuristic solarpunk city; just chilling, roaming around and getting to know the NPC's and the complexity of their individual being which would grow with each interaction, and their interrelations with the other NPC's, the players and the surroundings.
I LOVE that you are actually including the insides of the buildings and considering the logistics and infrastructure of such a city. A lot of builds look nice on a surface level but fall apart logically when you question their designs and would be impossible to play on because the insides are missing or because things are scaled up to an impractical degree for higher "resolution" if that makes sense. To make your build about more than just superficial aesthetics is what makes TRULY great designs in my opinion. Very well done! EDIT: Okay, some of the insides may be incomplete, at least it looks like it from some of the shots like at 22:50, but great job nevertheless!
Thank you sm! I'm glad people appreciate the interiors because it can be painfully time-consuming, but I agree that it adds a crucial layer to the build.
Dude, every single time you built a little cube house I was impressed because all of them are unique, it takes a lot of creativity to not accidentally make a clone of a house you already made. This is actually my favorite minecraft build
absolutely phenomenal 😲. i love the lush island theme, and the beautiful city that really goes with the scenery. its like how a paradise would be without being cliche or unrealistic, the solarpunk is way better than the cyberpunk. it is obvious that you put in so much care and effort into the design and story, bringing together a fantastic masterpiece 😁
Thank you so much!!! I'm very fortunate to have viewers that appreciate the small details and extra effort. People like you were my biggest motivation for this project💛
I think Cyberpunk and solarpunk go together very well. Cyberpunk is a warning of how we can mess up the future and what we do not want. Solarpunk on the other hand shows a hopeful world that is still realistically achievable. If you put them together then they show that fundamentally it is not what technology exist that decides which one we end up with, since both visions of the future have very similar technology levels. Instead the difference is how people choose to use those technologies, who has access to them, how well the government does, etc
@@SludaBuilds you deserve it. Honestly your build is stunning! Can I ask how you plan out these kinds of builds? I always struggle to get coherency and variation between my builds.
I almost never watch minecraft videos, but this felt like an artwork expressed via blocks. I had a huge, stupid grin on my face throughout the entire video and the way you described the lore mixed with the emotions and expressions that the build gave off was honestly so fun and joyful to watch. You've earned yourself a subscriber.
This theme/style of build is very rare to find and soothing to watch. I really like this kind of build that has a very pleasing aesthetic of nature in the build. You’re so underrated, keep up the good work man!
Super refreshing to finally see someone build a full city that's in a unique style instead of just another generic American style, discount Chicago/New York looking city like everyone else does on yt
I don’t normally comment but this truly deserves to blow up. There are channels with millions of followers who could not of done this style justice. I wish you luck as you grow and please keep the content up.
1. new subscriber from this, AMAZING building. the way builders like you use all sorts of different blocks for textures is insane to me (like fletchers stations, or toolsmith tables, ect.) it's just mind boggling how people are this creative. 2. i LOVE solarpunk, and I especially love your take on it! the districts are so well thought out and put together and it just all makes sense! it really inspires me to one: build like this in my own minecraft worlds, and two: write. solarpunk, to me at least, brings back a very community oriented lifestyle that has been largely abandoned nowadays. its all so cool and i can not put into words how awesome it is!
This. Is. Fantastic. I'm always into man-made x nature like post apocalyptic cities with plants growing crazy on the tall buildings and houses and other stuff. But solar punk is definitely another good genre. It's such a shame that we don't see this a lot. Genuinely would love to see a movie or an adventure/action/story driven game in this genre. Also, you mentioned a nether portal. I'd love for you to make solarpunk city but in the nether in that same world.
Only a few minutes in so far but this is absolutely insane, the build is awesome but the editing is really well done too! Really nice job, great to see you back 😃
i've been waiting to see someone do exactly this in minecraft! the style translates really well into the game and i am so impressed with the level of thought, detail, and story. wonderful work
This was an incredible video. Loved that the build was lore-based, one part that especially stood out to me was the buildings in the agricultural area were built into the ground so their roofs would be at ground-level. Awesome stuff!
this is BY FAR the greatest city build i've seen in a long time. And I'm quite the enthusiast, speaking as an architect and urbanist. Great video, even greater build. The best part was definitely the villagers singing in the end. Very touching
I just finished watching! What a great piece of work! 6 months you said? Totally worth it! I enjoyed the video to the fullest! Can't wait what you do next!
My favorite part of this build were the names you gave all the towns, buildings, resorts, etc. They heavily remind me of Super Mario Sunshine, as does most of this build really. Very quickly became my new favorite MC build. Lovely work!
omg omg omg this is a huge step up and i cant wait to play it! very well done! i have no doubt that in some time, youll surpass the skill and reputation of great builders like shovel and trixy. keep pushing, and good luck for your journey on that path. im excited to see what the future holds.
I love how this whole build is Minecraft scale. Like so many other builds I see are huge megabuilds and aren’t meant to be for Minecraft-sized people to be walking around so this was a breath of fresh air 😁😁
When I tell you my eyes were glued to the screen the whole time, this is the prettiest build I have ever seen. At some point my jaw dropped and didn't close anymore until the end of the video, each part got better and better. AMAZING job!
you are a very underrated minecraft builder you videos need more hype. I love how it has story and the city has life, you really deserve more acknowleadgement.
Amazing Build! I loved seeing it come to life. I always aspire to make similar eco-friendly towns...though i tend to get demotivated after awhile lol. 6 months working on this is crazy!
The way you talk so casually while you've clearly put so much thought into the realism, the structure, the layout, the details, the story line and just everything makes this even crazier. This whole build is incredibly impressive ❤
A roundabout with an elevator in the middle, leading to a massive floral garden of sorts? Walkways could be built arching over the monorail, perhaps with a circular avenue built atop said walkways, connecting them all whilst encompassing the aforementioned elevator. Or just build whatever you'd like to, idk. @@SludaBuilds
This is hands down one of my favorite city builds ever. Solarpunk is one of my favorite sub genres, alongside cyber and steam punk, so to finally see someone build a really unique and well thought out city with this aesthetic is awesome.
i also love how you even built it in a chronological manner in terms of the lore, it adds a lot to the video and helps make a build of this scale more digestible.
@@AinetheIrish The city example in the beginning of a sad looking city is usually not how any city looks. It's extreme bias by someone who doesn't actually look up at buildings or has been to a city such as New York, Chicago, or even a new development like Miami, to see how much culture really is there when you take away to chaos, gritty life on streets, homelessness, and modern residential glass blocks that take up half the street.
it's definitely an exaggeration for the sake of the video. I absolutely love cities, but it's fun to try to imagine better cities because there will never be perfect one.
@@SludaBuilds and that's alright, people are always trying their best to improve, it turns out places like London in the 1800s became extremely polluted because people were desperate and didn't care at all about something that was important to them. The industries were definitely full of greed, but many were just accustomed to the practice. Especially chimneys, heaven forbid New York city in 1750 have chimneys the rats! Honestly, we only see these things bad today because we aren't busy enough, and have invested our practices into more angular discoveries like science and medicine more so than at the time. Though those people must have been very healthy and resilient at the time to have lived through without major illnesses, same with chimneys. Probably seemed charming at the time having all these homes puffing at night keeping the houses warm in winter. I don't exactly look at your proposed world and see anything remotely natural or friendly, everythings too large, strange, and clean with overly corporate looking materials for everything around you, glass domes encasing atriums instead being out in the open. Truly the best way to live was the towns of North America, open, well storied, beautiful homes that didn't take up too much and still remained populated, all completely sorrounded by 50,000 acres of forest and land that they have never inhabited until the next settlement/town. we also traveled the ocean by sail with zero coal production and the worst thing that entered the ocean was wood chips and tea 😉. It was remarkably normal, and I much prefer it to this tourist island.
I'm so happy someone decided to bring this idea to life! I dream up concepts of such cities in my head every day, but I didn't even think it had a name. I'm so glad that some people understand the harmony between human beings and nature
I have watched many Minecraft build videos and this is by far the best one I have ever seen. The attention to detail is flawless and your talent and dedication is truly inspiring. You have made solar punk a new favorite of mine and have inspired me to go out and create. Keep up the great work because you are truly talented my man. You just earned yourself a new loyal subscriber.
This build is such a hopeful look into a potential future, with wonderful community spaces everywhere, but as I watch I can't help but think of my wheelchair-bound friends and how inaccessible all those spaces are for them. Maybe an extensive elevator system or simply some gentle ramps in spots otherwise inaccessible would make it really pop and feel like a living, breathing city
dude, imagine how epic this would be with the create mod. already pretty epic as is, but with a working monorail and phantom rail cars, this city would be insane!
I don't know what to say.. but in just 27 minutes this video is really a treat for the eyes and satisfies my expectations all your efforts and hard work deserve to be liked by everyone.
Sluda I feel like you are finally making the impact you always wanted. Not only is this build amazing Minecraft, it's eye opening and inspiring, it speaks to a better way to make the real world. If we ever have cities like this it will be because thousands of believers like you worked hard to show people what isn't yet but could be. Also, not only did you make an great looking mega city build but you made it completely playable with walkable interiors! You are a certified role model now man! I'm so proud of you! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The only thing that rubbed me wrong was the largest crane in the industrial bay. The base is so thin compared to the top that it looks to have no support and looks uneasy. However, right after that you mentioned how this one neighborhood was built by the seaside to "Get away from the sounds of the industry" which immediately immersed me so much in this area. The rest of the island is so good and i honestly cant think of a better example of solarpunk in Minecraft. You're awesome!
This is just absolutely beautiful. Maybe the most incredible city build I think I've seen in years. Seriously, your skill and talent is just insane to see.
I was completely immersed in this world you created and was sad when the video ended. Phenomenal work. Love all the effort put not just into the build, but actually thinking through how a city progresses with districts old and new.
How do you like a video twice? This is absolutely STUNNING! I’d love to see the more in-depth build process on some parts, especially how you chose the shapes and color palettes. I especially love how you include lore and context behind the different pieces, explaining the history. You do a really great job of mixing colors, sharp and curved lines, shapes, scales, and terrain with man made structures! But while all of these are my favorites, I especially appreciate the time you take to mix *time* and *space* with old and new buildings! It makes the city seem a lot more lived in and comfortable, like it’s a place made by hands and not just an omnipresent builder, if that makes sense? It also grounds the idea in reality by providing context as to what’s where and why it’s there. Absolutely breathtaking. I could go on more about it, like the fantastic natural looking statue and the blending of actual infrastructure to make sense in the context of the build, but it would take a year to list out everything I love about this build! That effort paid off in spades, in my eyes. Absolutely gorgeous build, and a beautiful piece of *artwork.* Hopefully this comment helps boost your stuff to new viewers, too! You deserve a lot more! (Also I just wanted to mention how cool the music choices, editing, and crediting are! Definitely would have preferred to see part of the build process in full since someone mentioned how it was previewed backwards, but I’m not sure if that’s for the entire thing or not. It’d be awesome to see some behind the scenes if those don’t exist already. Plus, it looks super smooth the way you did it, so I don’t particularly mind either way!)
WoW, this is incredible. I couldn't imagine how long it took to think up the designs, and build it. Its truly amazing, you did a fantastic job. Love to see more! All the talent behind deleting blocks, truly crazy. Keep it up.
