LOVE WB put a true-blue rear dinette as the livingroom centerpiece! For those who actually like to enjoy the view - you know, the whole point of camping - while eating, working, etc - it's awesome. Looks like a winner! Josh got Mittens! *:P*
Good video, well thought out for better than average optics. Granted this is a 2018 video and there's a chance I won't get a reply, but... does this, or other model ha e a similar floorplan with out door shower and kitchen?
LOVE this NEW Winnebago 27RLTS!! The BIGGER dinette is FAB!! The NEW design of this Winnebago is very modern & FRESH!! Who doesn't NEED this LARGE sized double pantry!! Someone at Winnebago is talented at thinking OUTSIDE the box!! :)
Hi Josh...during the beginning of this video, you mention a perfect subject matter for a Hay-lett's learn about stuff video. You have spoken about half ton and fifth wheel pin weights. The new subject would be about ground clearance ,and how to adjust a fifth wheels for towing behind a truck. I have GMC HD 3/4 ton diesel . My receiver is at it's lowest position in the truck bed. Would I have problem towing a lightweight fifth wheel??? What are the make and models fifth wheels with adjustment options? Sincerely Vince
I will definitely add it to the list. GM pickups tend to sit a little lower than Fords, so you MIGHT be okay depending on the model. In our lineup I have noticed Open Range Ultralite and Light fifth wheels set the lowest followed by Cougar Half-Ton Models. Winnebago's Minnie Plus has adjustable suspension which should help in all but the most extreme cases while Jayco's Eagle HT series remains the best at fitting on a large truck with an adjustable suspension that includes a greater degree of adjustment as well as the option for larger 16" tires (which we're doing as a rule now). Eagle HTs can fit onto a one ton dually as a result. It's great. The thing you need to do is pull out a tape measure, use it twice, and purchase once. We're more than willing to put in the sweat equity on our end to ensure a proper and safe hitching scenario for you!
ULTRA or SIGNATURE fifth wheel. ULTRA models are really made for general duty trucks while Signatures are bigger and tend to set higher the past few years.
Quick Note: Just finished up the video you mentioned. I have some others slated for released. You'll see your topic hit the interwebs Friday Feb 16th at 8am Eastern! Thanks so much for the input!
I was referencing travel trailers at the time. Passport and Apex. Like Winnebago they almost never come back with anything -- and when they do it's typically very, very minor.
Gaps at the top/bottom of doors are intentional for airflow either from windows to an exhaust fan or required for proper A/C function (depending on the A/C system - that's not the case in ALL RVs)
Hi Josh, is it possible to get freestanding table and chairs instead of the dinette? I love this floor plan except for that. I realize they would have to delete the outside storage on the rear of the Rv. Thanks
What you could do here Chris is swap the rear dinette for a rear sofa, then swap the sofa in the slide for a free standing dinette. That IS available from the factory on this model. Just goes to show -- doesn't matter how we build it. It's always wrong *LOL*.
Auto leveling is not currently available on these nor is it commonly found on fifth wheels in this category. You can find similar models in Cougar and Eagle like the 28SGS and 27.5RLTS Respectively with auto leveling as an available option.
It's a pretty uncommon oversight thankfully. Review similarly sized Cougars or Eagles here & You'll see they have bedroom arrangements you'd likely prefer! You can see similar category Eagles here: bit.ly/2zkN8w7 & Similar Category Cougars here: bit.ly/2zjQSxS
From a quality standpoint: You bet. You won't find much better. From a seasonal standpoint: That depends on where/how you intend to camp. You can (and we have) applied their foil insulation package to our Minnie Plus fifth wheels, but no towable Winnebago products are climate tested so no hard data exists. At the end of the day they're a light weight trailer and not built with long, hard-freeze camping in mind.
I like the floor plan and slides but not the dinette, sofa and sink location. For me, rear sofa and theater seating for open living area. Table dinette with chairs. Sink should be out of the way and against wall where storage is. I've never been keen to having a long island with sink that sticks a little into living area. A small, movable island can provide extra storage and surface area for drinks/or food bar. The room focus would be openness, not a long sink in the middle and in the way. That would make this fifth wheel perfect for me.
What you're saying then is you actually do not, in fact, like the floor plan. Rather, you would prefer something like these with your personal preferences: bit.ly/2mmve6p
Correction: I like the slides in that floor plan. I viewed the link you provided and like them, again, except for the long sink island. I wish you could give a snapshot in your videos of the trailer with slides closed. I know you did that with RVs. Its so helpful to see when deciding.
