An elegant property that has been lavishly restored, crystal chandeliers imported from Prague, rooms with fabulous proportions, beautiful gardens, with a swimming pool, bordering a river, and the proximity (on foot) of a lively medieval bastide town.
The castle would make the perfect wedding venue, restaurant, hotel, B&B, or simply a grand family home! Only 25 mins from Bergerac airport and 1 hr 30 from Bordeaux.

What an exceptional and stunning property. I would say more aimed at a corperate ownership, maybe as a hotel and conference centre. Thanks for Leggett for highlighting another charming property with this great presentation.

NO not a hotel, corperate, ............. a conference centre but for the family that will live there .. and too many Chateau are being modernized they should leave it in it's original state in and out just make sure it's fully renewed livable...

Nice imposing chateau. What I miss is the access to it. For guests the very first impression will stay. I also miss from the point where the people are standing a kind of drève going down that hill. Maybe the existing path should be widened so that you can ride an oldtimer or a carriage on it at evening bordered by torches. I am not dreaming. For what these volières could serve other than just standing there. A play of Mozarts Zauberflöte, der Vögelfänger. Or maybe the volières should be replaced at the very end of that drève as a focal point in the distance. The real thing is however, and I was searching for it inside right away, if there was a very grande pièce. Suppose the buyer has plans with it. Where can guests gather? I wouldn' like to renovate first. Then I would rather pay more as from the beginning.. Hunny we are in France, locals don't spent money there. A spa session at 10 euros, Really? No this chateau is in fact highly pregnant but the water must be broken. The chateau is clean and neat. The terrain is big enough. Another question I am asking myself is what is the economic potential in the region to rent it out. I will need staff and at what price can I let it and how many times a week will it be taken. I have no restaurant and I have no bar. Serious questions.

I see this is 1.7 Million Euro. Normally these Châteaus have limestone as bricks but the cement is deficient being it kind of lime and earth. The cement is not the strongest. The flooring often was laid only on compacted earth or on wooden beams which resided on sleeper walls. So the flooring will be attacked by Thermites after a while and the wooden beams will e rotten away after 40 years. Expensive to redo. The weakest point is the compkicated wooden beam roof which rots once water damage happens. Remember they did not know cement or concrete at the time of Château hype but the materials where locally sourced. Adornements are of gypsum. That is why the cealing tends to fall down after a century and these Châteaus are very expensive to maintain. They will ruin the owner financially. That is why so many are for sale. Be the King of England? No problem, then you may be able to afford these with tax payers money.
