Have you ever looked at a tree? It's all curves and no straight lines. The wood is milled straight when it is cut into planks and boards. You could carve the curves out of a solid block but it uses far less wood to take a straight plank, steam it for quite some time, bend it to fit a mould/jig for the shape that you want and clamp it until it cools and dries out. Alternatively, you can take multiple thin strips of wood that are easier to bend to the shape of a jig, glue them together and clamp them until the glue sets.
120k bit pricey for age and i would expect a washing machine and a bow thruster and even cctv installed if i was parting 120k. Nice boat but too pricey.
A serious question, am I missing something that makes this 12 year old boat worth 120K appreciate the condition etc but feel that there is something that I am not seeing?
I’m in agreement about the price but only has 400 hours on the engine We have a JD Narrowboat from the same year (fitted out by them) they are very solid fit outs and built like tanks !!!!
Maybe the number of hours it took to do the woodwork? All of the drawers were dovetailed. That alone takes a lot of time. You wouldn't work for nothing, would you?
I thought reverse layout meant that from the stern it ran Galley, Saloon, Bathroom and then Bedroom at the Bow or am I missing something? (I'm quite new to Boating/Narrowboats) . . Lovely Boat btw.
As lovely as this boat is I suspect the reason it hasn't sold is the over inflated price the owner has been advised to sell it for, take 20k off and it will sail away 😄
Anybody would be proud to live on a boat with such quality workmanship like that but I would be scared to let the dogs and/or grandchildren come on board. I notice that the commodore was nowhere to be seen.
