I hacked my Street Fighter Arcade1Up rig. I am running an Arcade Punks build on a 32 GB as card. Everything works. No gimmicks. I can see the value and convenience this device has for someone that doesn't have time to invest in a build themselves.

My RetroPie setup isn't filled with hacks and multi region games. It's one ROM for each game. Everything is nice and simple. 🙂

I like to curate my own collection of games by using one rom for each game but I can kind of appreciate something like this because there are some people out there that love a particular version of a rom so this collection satisfies many. I've got like 24,000 games on my Steam Deck and I probably have every game known to mankind from the 16-bit era and under. On the CD based games, I chose my favorites since they take up a lot of space.

I think it would be cool to have a sub system put the games you pick out for another group os. But really I guess all you need to to is push the fav button.

Also the ps1 rom list was ripped without music to save space. You can delete the rom set and replace it with any full rip romset on your own.

System if you can't get a raspberry pi 4 or a setup computer. If you don't have a laptop to make your own os card.

They do work. You dont pick the actual region from the list and launch it as if its a rom, the regions are not actual rom. You launch the regular non parentheses rom after setting your region in the emulator.

It's pretty simple. For over a decade I have only wanted one thing. A tiny, simple, cheap, all in one system that plays every previous game system well. I mean why can't the made a $50 system to do it all :) But in seriousness, if you could have just one emulation machine for use on a living room TV, what would it be?

Oh man did I see him scroll through arcade D section and Defender wasn't in there. Drew is right we're spoiled lol. Too many doubles and too many games in my opinion. Agree definitely has appeal for those that don't want to put together their own. I would buy a good mini desktop instead

A lot of multi region games and hacks. These pre built systems don't need all those hacks and multi region games.

Had one of those.. gave it away to a friend because the damn thing isn't powerful enough to emulate what I want it to.. like the N64.. but up to ps1 runs almost perfect for the most games.. anything beyond that.. no just don't try..

@@drewtalks thanks for the update. I wasn't aware of that. The problem is there are so many of these things and it's hard to know what they can run and what they can't. Many of these units have the same hardware inside.

ofc its worth it if you want something ready to go...you can always build one yourself though but you will have to downlaod your own roms...also if you buy it be sure to make a backup of the sd card because most times they are crap sd cards that will get corrupted after a while

I can imagine this being a good option for someone who doesn't want to go through the hassle of building a retropie setup. But I think I'd still rather build my own setup and filling it with only the games that I'm interested in.

This wouldn't be a bad little gaming device had it not been loaded with repeat games, foreign version games & hacks. Not to mention it's weighed down with weaker systems like C64, Sinclair, Amstrad & Atari VCS. 😕
