SOLD SOLD SOLD FOR SALE $25K 1979 Mini Special 1430cc with Straight Cut Close Ratio Gearbox 

My mate had a black mini 1100 special on a V reg plate like on your Mini (V reg from 1 August 1979 to 31 July 1980) it had twin SU carbs , it was a pocket rocket, It is a front wheel drive go cart. He bought the car in 1989 so it was 9 years old at the time, a very popular car the Mini and mini clubman With the squared front end .May be you want to check out the Mini's bigger brother the Maxi it's got a squared front like the Clubman but it's 5 door hatchback with a 1500 or 1750, OHC engine like the Mini it's front wheel drive and it was ahead of it's time in 1969 when it was launched it was first family car to have a 5 speed gear box as standard.The Maxi was in production until 1982. Looks great, always fancied a rose gold Special! Although that's an aftermarket console not technically the original "special" centre console, I ran one of the proper mini special consoles in my mini, they're lots of money these days!

What a beautiful mini

I had one of these as ONE of MANY of my 1st Minis, I cut my 14 year old teeth on these Brilliant Little ROAD Legal Go-Karts, I then had a nice 1275GT with a 1340 Standard Gearbox as £££ was very tight in South Wales UK back then. Today at 50 i STILL WANT another Mini. The difference i;d do today would be the Honda V-Tec Conversion [In the Front] With the Clubman Front-End for MORE ROOM and maybe Turbo it. M.E.D in England do some pretty nice stuff for Minis as well as Mini-Spares/KAD/And of course Specialist Components [Also Jack-Knight]. The Fun part of all this is when i turned 21 and passed my CLASS1 HGV [Big-Rigs] Licence i used to Deliver parts to Rover up LongBridge and SAW them making the Newer Mini-Sport With a VERY Limited Run with the 5 Speed Gearbox [Built by Jack Knight Developments].

Actually I have tbe 4th with original engine. Original paint and interior.

For $25k the headrest needs fixing. Color is a matter of taste and for $25k you can get something better.
