We are also going to take the Synergy SLO and do some comparisons here as well! We will use an SD-1 to boost it at some spots. #soldano #SLO #tubeamp #metal #80s #80smusic #dmd
I didn't realize the Syn-1 enabled you to A/B preamps like that with it's unique in-out design. Very cool. As a Soldano-enthusiast I really enjoyed this one. Interesting to hear you point out the SLO's similarities to a Recto as they are basically identical preamp-wise. My SLO100 will be back from Dave Friedman sometime this month. It was being repaired for a factory flaw and updated to current production spec. He's also modding the Crunch channel to his preferred spec and putting a "cold-clipper" switch on the lead channel. I'd be interested to see what you think of it once I get the demo up. The lead channel is where it's at for me. That thickness is really satisfying when playing by yourself. In a band setting it doesn't really make too much difference. I like the crunch as well, but I figured while it was in with him I should have him trick it out. Michael Nielsen also has a Friedman-modded Soldano preamp that I think sounded great so hoping for similar results. Thanks for the killer content as always dude!
@TheGreaseDen that's sic that you got Dave modding it! Never heard of the cold clipper mod but it sounds it'd make those strings even chimier. Love that sound. I know you have your fair share of playing soldanos. There def I'd something special about them. I'm always on the look out for ur videos man
@brucejoyce9934 these are Gibson 84T-LM's and a p90 variant on the neck. These come stock on the guitar and I absolutely love them. Lee mahlia spec'd, don't know much about that dude bit he has great taste in guitars
