video seems well done but the quality makes it hard to see/understand what your doing (im a complete noob in soldering so i have almost no idea how to do this) :\

Looks like you have the polarity incorrect. Shouldn't the Male bullet be soldered to the red positive from the battery and be in the large side of the connector? Female bullet then go on the black wire with the small side of connector.
