HALLO. I'm back. I've been busy with various things. Have a song!
This idea from a random comment on Forest Rain's "Raise the Sun", which I did a cover of a long while back. The comment read "I need the NLR equivalent of this song!". Inspiration struck, and I mentioned I would get on that.
Four months later, here it is.
Features two of the best people ever! 4EverfreeBrony on guitar and vocals, and Midnight Melody on bass! LOVE THEM BOTH, I DEMAND IT.

I can't help but reflect on this set of lyrics: "The times we live in now have changed, honor is long gone, and now that Good and evil are shades of grey, a cruel impasse is drawn For all the good we have created, it doesn't make us right But those of us who hide in darkness see a different kind of light" As a soldier, I feel they will hold a special place in my heart for a long time. Modern warfare is no longer about good and evil, it's about making the world a better place in 'our' vision of better. This song has so much place in today's military it isn't even funny. Almost every single one of us is a misfit with a cause. Most of us only want a better tomorrow, and the only way we think of getting to it is through service to a higher calling. This song is amazing. Never stop. I love you (no homo). From Canada.

War has never been a good vs evil but a cloudy grey. Thats someonethig I've learned while studying military history. No nation has ever had their hands clean, and its best ti forgive crimes of the past cause at the end of it all. Weather good or bad we will all rest side by side in graves.

There needs to be an animation of the Soldiers marching onto the battlefield in the middle of a solar eclipse and on the other side of the field, the Armies of the Sun await to do battle. 4:50-4:58 should be a scene where the Unicorns on both side are summoning spells, weakening both. As the battle rages, the scene will expand to see Celestia and Luna playing a game of chess in the castle and end with the sound of a chess piece, particularly a king, falling, issuing checkmate

When I listen to that song, in my mind I see Lunar Soldiers marching, like on a parade, and then when the guitar solo comes in, I see them fighting against the Solar Army. Then, when the Bass comes in, I see the battlefield after the battle. I the chorus after that, Lunar Army marching again, but not as many as before, only those who survived. They march with the NLR flag. And then, when the song is coming to an end, they are looking up at the moon.

I find myself revisiting this at the end of the New Lunar Republic v. Solar Empire battle on Derpibooru. This song always held a place in my heart being a Luna fan and much like the final chorus, so to did the forum wars play out. A triumphant call to arms among the Republic that fades away into a melancholic victory as we work together towards peace on the board again.

This might just be the best song I've heard come out of the fandom, which place it above most other songs I've heard, even by contracted and popular artists. It might just be my military background that gives me a bias for this kind of thing, but the lyrics spoke to me like no other lyrics have before. That, and the grim, determined, and steady melody fit with the words and the message perfectly. I simply cannot give this enough praise. Well done, good sir. Well done.

It is a spinoff of Forest Rain's "Raise The Sun". Luna controls the moon, and her sister, Celestia, controls the sun. Forest Rain's variant is symbolized around Celestia, and this video is centered around Luna. There's also the image of a legion of horses in night-inspired armor. (Night, moon, and alike are representations of Luna in MLP: Friendship is Magic.)

@Wilbur Cutter and Ashley Dawnhurricane: Oh yes, it certainly wasn't the right thing to do, but Luna also went too far herself and Celestia didn't have the wisdom to find a better way back then. It's called learning from your mistakes. And I could quite clearly tell that banishing her sister was one of her biggest regrets, if not the biggest. So as much as you are partially right, you also have to have some bloody understanding before I'll agree with you. This damned war among the fandom over which is better is all-around stupid. Just my two cents worth, anyway. By the way, I actually think Luna is awesome and I am still disagreeing with you.

Lets look at the facts. What service is Celestia actually performing? Mother Moon watches over the dreamers, she comforts those in their nightmares. She provides a service. Celestia the tyrant sits atop her throne and lords over everyone, claiming to be an all powerful alicorn when she does nothing a simple noble bureaucrat could not do. Twilight handles all of Equestria's problems. Dramatic representation: C: "Twilight, my evil cousin has escaped banishment and is about to lay waste to Equestria. Get your friends and get out there." T: "Can't you help just this once, you've known her since you were foals." C: "I can't. Spa day at 12, then I have to listen to people tell me how cool I am. Its fine just make her your friend or something." Scene.
