Solid Aluminum Baseball Bat Cast | Legit Demolishing Tool

After setting up my 1912 wood lathe I had to make something with it. So, here we go! Possibly one of the most unneccesary things I ever made. I'm not a baseball expert by any mean, but I feel pretty safe to say this makes no sense. It's so HEAVY! Much more suited for demolishing I think. And let me tell you, it's good fun!
I wanted to try making a wood pattern on the lathe since I saw this video:
• How To ALMOST Cast A H...
by "FarmCraft101"
And I can confirm this technique works very well. I think it's a very interesting process, and I hope you do as well!
The casting ended up having a little depression on the top side (relative to how I pour the aluminum) as the cooling molten aluminum shrinks a lot specially with a big cross section like we have here. I was hoping the large outfeed would have compensated but apparently a feeder was needed for the thicker part of the bat. Next time!
I just started to list some of the stuff I use for my projects in this amazon storefront:
www.amazon.com/shop/blackbear...
It's affiliate marketing, so if you order something from here you'll help the channel for free! Thank you!

Great that you're using all of your restored tools to make something even if you think it's unnecessary it's still really cool. Just a tip I learned growing up, if you're keeping it by your bedside at night be sure to put a long sock on it, this way if you swing and they grab it, they're only left with a sock and you get another swing :)

only downside is, with a heavy weapon you will easily get tired after killing 10 zombies, the 11th zombie might find you easier to attack. and there can be a crowd of them. i like what this dude did here, but with the zombie apocalypse, i still believe a 4' steel fighting staff with permanent jungle machetes at each end can effectively control a zombie crowd.

@donkey ass reviews and do's how would he have corked it? if you read the video title the thing is SOLID aluminium. not like those baseball bats you find in a store. it's a single freaking piece of aluminium. that's also why in the description he makes a point of saying it was really heavy. because it's made of solid aluminium, which is pretty heavy
@Steve-of3er
@Steve-of3er 4 года назад
@donkey ass reviews and do's well that's obviously true, however the entire bat is solid aluminium, so there's no real way to put cork inside it. it's not made in two pieces and hollow, the whole thing is a single cast of aluminium.
