@cad4fea is going to teach you how to convert a single body solidworks part into multibody part using solidworks split feature. #Solidworks #Split #Multibody
Hi there is there a way to create and delete the sub areas after you split them. For example I am using a STP file for a plant and I need to split the plant into sub-areas is there a way to do this and separate whole parts of the plant, without creating a new part for each split off part? Basically I want to split the model but keep all the parts in the same assembly.
@cutty02 if it's greyed out it means solidoworks is not connected . That's what happened to me. It turns out the firewall was blocking sw so not all the features were working.
@@h.aerospace right click in the feature tree what part you want and then CLICK "Insert into new part" - CLICK "the 3 little dots after the title bar" and then type in what you want it to be called hit enter and then the green check mark. It will open a new part screen for that saved half.
