Solo backpack piston pump sprayer work. Today I had success in rebuilding my Solo Backpack Piston Pump Sprayer. All of the o-rings, the piston seal and more have been cleaned and replaced.
Here is a link to the sprayer if you are looking for one: amzn.to/3jLh2iq

Sorry for your problems, but it's nice to see it's not just me 😊 I've tried so many factory authorized videos where they say "then you slip part a over part b" - and it just can't be done. Glad I could be of help, have a great day!

Thanks for the video. I ran into exactly the same problem today on an old Stanley Backpack Sprayer. I tried everything but after watching this video, a little heat and a strap wrench and the old sprayer works like new.

Great! It really sucks to have to throw something out like this! It's good to see people fixing things 😊

Thanks so much for making this video....I just completed this rebuild and your "real world" tips were so much more helpful than the Gempler perfect world disassembly video. I'm ashamed to admit how long it took me to do this and I am a 70 yo farmer with tons of experience...lol

At the end of the video, if your nozzle is dripping, it's likely some debris keeping the little red plunger in the handle from closing completely. If it doesn't spray a nice even pattern, take apart the nozzle tip and clean the three little ports inside the nozzle. The little tip inside the nozzle can be gently pulled straight out to facilitate cleaning and pushed straight back in when clean.

As I commented on the previous video, I hope I can find those gaskets! Maybe they're standard? Fingers crossed, toes crossed. eyes crossed. Maybe I'll get by just cleaning and lubing with vacuum grease...we shall see! Glad to see you got her apart! Yeah success! Now it's time for a beer!😁👍🤙

I bought one of these SOLO sprayers and the piston stopped holding pressure after 8-10 uses. They sent be an entirely new sprayer, which is nice, then that one did the same after 7-8 uses. I do everything right from triple-rinsing and relieving all of the pressure before stored. I have tried to contact someone at SOLO several times all month (July 2024), but this time not getting a response. I am so sick of companies claiming "Made in the USA" when the product is garbage. No more SOLO for me.

HD had the diaphragm and o ring kit parts for the sprayer for $40 or a brand new sprayer for $80 (with my military disc.). These things are clearly meant to be disposable.

Got it done! It should last more than a year. Maybe changing O-rings can be justified as annual maintenance.

I sure hope so! I will be using it for thinner (non-wettable powders) from here on in so maybe it will last longer than that. 🤞

To get an old pressure tank out you get a bigger hammer and don't tap it, you whack it really hard til it surrenders. Dont be afraid, hit it good with a block of wood. It will come out.
@PlanetMojo

A bigger hammer and whack it harder sounds like my normal modus operandi 😉 I'll be less gentile next time, thanks! 😊

I was working on mine tonight. (Thanks for the great video BTW). Using a towel, piece of wood and a big hammer I still couldn’t get the cylinder out and ended up cracking it. Probably because the sprayer is 10+ years old. Gave up for the night and still haven’t gotten it out. :(

@@jonharismine is 30 yrs old and will not come out either and the gasket is torn so I am having to buy a new one. 30 years pretty good.

Did you have to rotate the pressure tank to get it out? Directions don’t say to do it but mine will not come out no matter how hard I hit the 2x4 with a mallet!

What kind of grease did you used?

It was faucet grease. You can get it at any hardware store.
