I usually use the bike as kind of a "trekking pole" on very tough uphills. I push the bike a step, lock the brakes, pull myself up a step. It makes the climb just tiny bit less grueling. Anyway, keep enjoying your expedition, man, it's amazing!
That's exactly right. I've had people suggest a motor on the bike but I am reluctant to what a motor will weigh. I will always prefer an ultralight hike, packraft or bikepack limited to just the necessities. I pack the bike with ultralight trekking gear taking into account every gram due to the weight of the bike. The brakes do help on the accents.

What a serenity and desolation there in the mountain valleys - you did a great trip! But if you don't mind, maybe the editing was a bit tight... how about more non-accelerated travel, simply slowing down? To get an idea of the majesty of the mountains, it’s nice to sit by the screen and let the miles go by ... boringly and epically at the same time. Your narratives are great but silent episodes - why not... letting the Nature tell its amazing, slow story. I'm sure you have great material for a longer movies, too! Never the less - I like very much to watch your videos!

I recommend anything lightweight. My bike is aluminum and weighs about 15kg. Nowadays there are aluminum, carbon and titanium frames which can weigh under 10kg. Titanium is the strongest.

By 3 person tarp do you mean extra large such as a12X12 ft tarp? I use a 9X9 ft / 3X3 m DD SuperLight tarp which is enough for one person with gear. If 2 people will be using the same shelter you may want the bigger tarp. Try testing with a cheap piece of 12X12 plastic first before you invest in a good tarp.
