Join me on an autumn wild camp in a local forest. On this camp I decided to bring a mix of modern and traditional gear with the plan of doing a little bushcraft. For instance, the modern baker style tent I brought is not freestanding and it does require you to use cut branches and/or a ridge line to suspend the tent and the awning. In addition, I needed to make a simple tripod to hang a pot for cooking. This meal took a bit longer than most of the things I normally cook at camp, so I got to spend plenty of time just relaxing by the fire. It's really nice when the temps start to drop as we head towards winter (my favorite time to camp). There is just something really nice about sitting next to a fire on a cold night!
