The most haunted forest in North America has a surprise for me on this solo camping trip! First night is spent at my friend's beautiful cabin off Mullica River New Jersey. Ducks, American Eels, Kayaking and amazing company starts a great week of solo camping in a million acre forest. I explore an empty ghost town known as Batsto Village and find lots of great wildlife and flora. First night at camp, I set out into the heart of the Pine Barrens New Jersey under the light of the full moon......and something scary happens..

C'mon! Man, that tiny cabin is ridiculously cool. That bunk?!?! How cool!! I saw the folks across the street. Great advice on the extra paddle, wise. Part 2 of this video was cool, too. I took a few solos this past year, nothing like it. I know that feeling of, "I don't want to see glowing eyes staring back at me" or see another human. Both disconcerting.

Yeah man, I love that place! Some day, I sure hope to get some kind of crazy honorary "Piney" status. I don't mind the glowing eyes, but humans tend to kill my zen. When I'm in the woods, wether it's night or day, I prefer to be the only human there. As for the paddles, yeah, noone wants to be up the creek without a paddle!

Thanks, M8. I filmed that back in May last year. I figure I out to catch up on my camp video editing. I kind of dropped off the radar for a few months here, but I am fighting tooth and claw to reel myself back in. I look forward to posting pt2 for those of you who will appreciate it :)

That cabin is awesome! And I think Winston is a Portuguese water dog. They are great family dogs. Nice video that makes me look forward to spring.

Not sure why one of the Discovery channel properties has not picked you up yet. The editing and pure production value on this installment is fantastic. BTW, I took a swig for every "cool". Good thing I train my liver for battle every evening. Where to start on my favorite parts....too many....but watch out for that Jersey Devil. He seems rather unpleasant, from what I hear.

Thanks for sharing your experience! By the way, the singing "Robin" around the 27 mark is actually a Wood Thrush, It says "Ee-oh-lay" (or "Frito-Lay" if you prefer). I also hear an Ovenbird chiming in with "Teacher, Teacher, Teacher!"
