What began as a super chill camping canoe trip with hopes to catch a few walleye to fry up for dinner turned into some of the greatest northern pike fishing I've ever come across. Please enjoy 42 minutes of me giggling like a little kid as I reel in some of the biggest fish of my life.
This video is part two of a 2 week trip I took with my dad to Ontario's Algoma District.

Really enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work! Not a pike fan however. Fortunately we don’t have any pike in Nova Scotia. Unfortunately we do have chain pickerel which were illegally introduced a very long time ago and are now progressively making their way into our finest trout streams, destroying everything as they go. I will never deliberately fish in known pickerel waters, but if I catch one accidentally I kill it and throw it in the bushes for the bears! I REALLY enjoyed your previous trout video!

The northern pikes are delicious but their abundance of bones makes them less desirable. But the more you guys eat them, you take the pressure off the young walleyes, So they can grow up and not become fish food for the hungry Northerns 😅

That looked like a fantastic trip. Huge fish, fantastic food, the bugs were able to join you lol, no fire ban… You might want to search “5 fillet pike cleaning method” here on RU-vid. The 5 fillet method was life altering for me lol. In addition, I know that Jim Baird has done pike cleaning tutorials and I think Jon from Lost Lakes has also.

Thanks Alan! I checked out those videos a little while back after your recommendation. I was just out on a trip with Tosh Self Propelled and with his careful guidance I was able to get 5 really clean fillets off a decent pike. It was delicious. That will be up after 2 more videos before that
