An idea for super simple backrest would be to make two poles, affix cloth between them, drill or cut holes in the floor facing backwards, and stick the poles in the holes. When not in use they can be rolled up and hung in the shelter.

Andy, I fell asleep last night to the sound of rain falling in this adventure---and woke up a few hours later. After getting things comfy again I turned again to the campout, where you were building a "log cabin" fire which filled me with joy. Here I am...an old lady now, disabled at the moment, but my hands and arms held the muscle memory of doing that, and the mixture of wonder and playfulness in your eyes reminded me that I can still go camping and enjoy what's familiar but with a fun new playmate. All I have to do is come along for the ride. Thank you for sharing your world.

I love your more genteel version, where your biggest enemy is the weather. You can relax more, and enjoy the quiet, and the beautiful woods that surround you. I'd love to be camping with you, if only for your delicious looking meals! I'd do all the prep, if you'd do the cooking! LOL I've been to England numerous times in the past, and I adore it there. Great to see you test out your shelter, I love the live roof and it must feel good to know how well it works in heavy rain. You must be proud of all your hard work in building such a fantastic shelter. Glad to see you relaxing and enjoying yourself just being in nature, it came across that you had a goodtime. Nice work Andy, love the builds and cooking videos etc but really good to see you just enjoy yourself. Keep it up mate.

As far as a seat there is something called a stadium or bleacher seat or a boat seat. The front and bottom of the seat wraps down and under and back, and would attach to the boards behind your knees. And the back folds forward for taking it with you. Not sure if there still made today, but they were in yesteryear. I remember a pair hanging on the garage wall when i was a lad.

Awesome episode Andy, I can only repeat what others have said that you look totally relaxed and unrushed, the rain also helped the relaxing feel to the video. I know what you mean about it being deadly silent at night. The slightest noise would have my imagination running away with me. I hope you continue your channel for many many years to come.

Probably my favourite vlog mate. I can’t make food that good in my house and you’re throwing it up in the woods haha! The shelter is mint 👌

Andy, what an awesome shelter . As I was watching your shelter build videos, I was thinking it reminds me of the shelters you and Simon camped in and around on your Sweden trip. Love your talent and your passion, a lot of us out there so very much appreciate all you bring us. Xx

Luv it! We camp in these all year around here in Sweden, even winter hiking is 100% doable. Just prep plenty of firewood and you'll be cozy all night long.
