Nice to hear Euthia get some love. Other than just game length, I don't understand why more people aren't raving about that game. It's just so amazingly good; even better than Mage Knight. I played it with a friend of mine, and a couple weeks later, he told me he actually pulled out his copy of Mage Knight, set it all up, and then just put everything away, because all he wanted was to play Euthia again, instead. Granted, it's not for the faint of heart, because setup and teardown take a long time, and we played a two-player, co-op game that took us over 5 hours, so it is long, but so worth it, and when that 5+ hour game was done, we were like, "I can't believe we were playing that for over 5 hours," because it's just that engaging. It takes a bit, but for a full, epic adventure in one gaming session, you can't beat it.
Always nice to see more of Jeremy and more solo discussion. I prefer to play with others, but I have more time and interest in games than those around me, so solo is becoming my predominant way of playing.
Some really great recommendations here! Nucleum and Darwin's Journey were both on my 10X10 challenge from last year and they're both great. Nucleum has worked it's way into my top 20 all-time. I love it solo! And I like playing it with the two bots so that I can use the 3-4 player map. That's a great feature. This year, only one game has really stood out to me at Gen Con - Windmill Valley. Barcelona was a pretty big hit for me and I think I will actually enjoy Windmill Valley even more from the playthroughs and videos I've seen.
Hey, great video. Of those games, I have and love Kinfire Delve and Slay the Spire. Fateforge certainly peaks my interest Will we be getting a video of KDM, perhaps reviewing or discussing Frogdog & Black Knight? Perhaps as a segment in a future video even?
More games for my list.... I talked myself out of Slay the Spire because it was so expensive (especially considering international shipping and currency conversion), but boy do I want to play it.
Man I am loving Concordia with Solitaria expansion. It seems like a game that shouldn’t solo but the expansion gives all new cards that gives you your action but also the bot’s actions. So you are choosing both actions. Very tense decisions but easy up keep. If you haven’t tried it, you should.
@@jhowd78 that is fair. I have an affinity for it but I think solo players will like the puzzle of it even if they don’t love the themeless and plain presentation. The card play is still worth it imo.
Two you didn’t mention I’m super curious about as solo player: Undaunted 2200 Callisto and Star Trek: Captain’s Chair. Thx for sharing, looks like some sweet games!
