I also hated pretty much everything from NJO onwards because they did screw up much of what I loved. If it were up to me, the new movies would tell a slightly altered version of the Legends continuity; the characters we know and love would be there, but the stories would be a little less dark.

Well, imo, post-25 ABY Legends is probably a better story ("probably" because I haven't read much of it) but I feel that the sequels fit the franchise better. And the reason for that, is the Yuuzhan Vong: they essentially retconned the Rebel Alliance from being heroic freedom fighters to fools who got hundreds of trillions killed by a diabolus ex machina that the Empire would have handled better. And so, watching the celebration at the end of Return of the Jedi isn't really the same anymore. At least the sequels' bad aspects stay within the sequels and don't affect my enjoyment of the original trilogy. At any rate, I prefer to stay in pre-25 ABY material, Legends or Canon. You keep most of the good stuff (KotOR, Clone Wars Cartoon, Jedi Knight video games, Thrawn Trilogy, The Mandalorian), while leaving out stuff I don't like or feel doesn't fit well in the franchise.

Heck, the current Lego games and animated movies are rife with allusions and easter eggs about obscure characters and stories from the Old EU.

And on top of that, "Star Wars: Visions" is basically an anthology made by hardcore Old EU fans for hardcore Old EU fans. It's pretty much a fanservice fest.

If you use that as the definition of "made up" then the entire Star Wars franchise is just "made up".

Star Wars was rebooted before they could get to that point. All we really got to was Jaina and Fel's marriage. So in theory, yes, but it's possible that they somehow broke up (Or one died) before anything happened.

No, in the Star Wars Legacy comics, the Fel emperors are descended from Jagged Fel and Jaina Solo. This is Legends stuff, from before the Disney "canon". The same comics in which Ania Solo appear state that Marasiah Fel was a member of the Galactic Triumvirate.

My personal opinion about where Anya Solo came from was a result of Han's earlier smuggling days and him having had several significant others before Leia. He had a 'younger cousin' by name of 'Jarik Solo', although Jarik was not a relative and merely mimicked the name as a way to get close to Han. Although Han found out about this, he didn't challenge the youth's claim, and as Jarik died just before a New Hope, told him that he'd earned it long ago. It's also possible Anya came into being through Jarik's girlfriends, as the legacy would be one that a 'lost' parent would want to hang on to.

The problem with that is Disney controls both now. And they say what gets put in either. At the moments, Legends is just a cash magnet fueled by nostalgia and actual good writing. They allow no one to touch it as to not undermine their authority and parody their joke of a Star Wars timeline that they stole elements of Legends from to make (yes stole. They never credit anyone for their obvious copies). It is literally censorship and theft. All the authors and game designers don't get their money from *their* work. Dave Filoni and Timothy Zahn would have been penniless if Disney didn't allow them to write for canon. So in conclusion. There is only one timeline. Disney's. The other has been rendered fanfiction.
