However, he did fall to the Dark Side, ending up exactly like Vader. Kylo wants to become like Darth Vader, but never did. Instead, he was redeemed, and gave his life in order to bring Rey back to life.

Hell, you can make several trilogies of sequels based on the Legends. Thrawn's Trilogy, The Dark Empire, the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Dark Hive Crisis, and the Second Galactic Civil War. I'm not talking about the era of the Old Republic.

I would've preferred a Yuuzan Vong trilogy first, then the Darth Caedus trilogy. Some people claim Lucas planned 9 movies, others claim he planned 12. 9 makes the most sense (3 movies for each generation), but with 12, casual fans can watch the Yuuzan Vong and Darth Caedus unfold before their eyes on the big screen.

Jen Vincur Mara Jade and Jaina( who technically speaking is the original Rey) are better characters because they are incredibly strong because they actually busted their ass to get to their level. Rey literally gets kidnapped by kylo wakes up and uses force powers beats him and even beats Luke with no absolute training

They've been sprinkling in more and more content from the Expanded Universe lately, and hinting at some big callbacks in the coming months. Hopefully, they'll gradually just retcon the sequel trilogy and put the story back on the right track as we move forward.

For me, he was like Zuko from Avatar: ATLA, he was raging, screaming every time in the first two movie, but in TROS, he showed that he can be a really strong power user. He actually killed like 20 mining natives of Mustafar, and killed his guards with ease. He was so calm, if he wanted to kill Rey, he easily would. He just played her. Same as Zuko. First two seasons: screaming, anger... Third season: calming down over time.

Vader becoming stronger than god is relatively new. Sure, he was probably holding back some in his battle with Luke, but enough to actually be defeated? The Vader in JFO is like Dark Knight's Batman: a completely different character.

Force illusion, energy absorption, fighting sight,Flow walk, teleporting items, nightsister magic, shatterpoint, powerful force lighting which Vader couldnt learn because of the suit, and so much more. Caedus force knowledge is no joke.

Darth Plagueis, crosscurrent, riptide (if you played Dark Forces 2, Mots, Jedi Outcast and JA and want to know what happens next) and Fate of the Jedi (if you love the Mortis arc in the Clone Wars series I'll recommend those 8 books)

It's true legends is long and illusive. But it's so intriguing despite how much detail it goes into. I really enjoyed it!

I need to read the series with Jacen in it, but Jaina and Ben Skywalker are awesome characters.

Even the side characters like tenel ka djo and Tahiri veila are fucking awesome. Tahiri has an amazing story arc being raised by the sand people and falling in love with anakin only to turn to the dark side by caedus after his death.

they should have continued the new movies off from where legends ended - after the book crucible. new stories but on the same timeline. the actors would be right age. chewy could have been retconned back to life in a comic or something before ep7.

To setting the new trilogy exactly 30 years after the ending of the OT all in an effort to promote an agenda which I think isn't really necessary at all since they could've made Rey a better character if they took stuff from legends and used it in the new movies. So you're saying that if we kept Legends canonized and started the new trilogy from where it ended with all the same characters from the sequel trilogy, we would've gotten a trilogy that was a beautiful and amazing love letter to new and old fans alike? I feel like they waited to long to continue into the legends story for the characters age. Maybe an animated series would work.

I mainly listen to audiobooks and I am so sad that the Yuuzhan Vong series is an abridged audiobook version because that means I have to read the books to get everything and it will take much longer because for audiobooks you can listen to them while cleaning and stuff but books you have to sit down and read. But yeah, Marc Thompson does an amazing job. When I listened to the Legacy of the Force series (also abridged sadly) it really put me through the ringer lol.

@@christiancrusader9374 Lucas apparently hated Mara because he was still bitter about his ex-wife MARicA, very similar to MARA. So Lucas and Luke was his standin for himself LUCas, per Lucas's own words. Lucas, according to Mark Hamill basically raged when he found out, even though all his early outlines had Luke marrying and having kids. Lucas was teasing Luke's female romantic interest in the late 80s and the book writes simply thought they were doing the best they could to align with his outlines he told them. Mark Hamill on the other hand loved Mara because he had been begging Lucas for a love interest for Luke very similar to Mara Jade since Empire Strikes Back. Mark Hamill has even teased if he could add anything to the Sequels it would be Mara Jade. Lucas was also apparently very upset because a company that contracted to make a playable card game cast a "Cosmopolitan Model" (Lucas's words) to play Mara Jade, even though they basically got everything wrong about her looks. Mara had bright orange hair (called Red-GOLD in the books) not dark red, she was nearly as short as Leia (5'4") with a Ballerina build (not big chested and fairly muscular for a female) but the model was tall with big breasts, her outfit in the books was typical female attire with a blaster hidden up her sleeve but in the photoshoot it was a leather cat suit with no sleeves, the photoshoot model also had horrible hair that has been accused of looking like either a porn actress or other worse things when Mara in the books didn't stick out for her hair style and was more plain looking, etc... anyways the redhead in my icon is Mara Jade, it's one of the better artworks to her book character Anyways Lucas, not having read the books and only the authors outlines, judged Mara on that photoshoot. Rumor has it he was very upset Luke got a smoking hot wife when his marriage failed (his ex said she left him because he was a workaholic). This does fit other cases from the books and comics. He picked characters from the comics and books all the time just based on their artwork. Characters like Ventress, Quinlan Vos, Aayla Secura, Darth Talon (in his Sequel outlines) are all characters who he liked the looks of and used more. Ironically Lucas himself basically wrote a character very similar to Mara Jade in Willow that he loved, Sorsha. She was also a redhead raised by the badguys who was sent to assassinate the protagonist but changes sides and basically hooks up with the male hero. Point is Lucas hates Mara for personal reasons and can't separate himself from the character of Luke. Everything about the character he himself basically already wrote before and liked it.
