I spent a few days exploring some new water in Utah. It was nice to get off the grid for a bit and get to enjoy the peace of spring. Hope you enjoy! Wild Fly Spring '22 Line www.wild-fly.com/shop Our Podcast / @wildflypodcast
Thank you all for the continued support! It's been a while since I filmed by myself, but I really enjoyed putting this one together. I tried to keep the focus off the music and let the beauty of the scenery speak for itself. I hope you enjoy it and if you haven't already, make sure to check out our new Spring '22 Merch line: wild-fly.com/shop/
I've been watching your videos for a while, it actually got me into fly fishing! I just was watching this video and saw that there were some rocks that looked familiar and realized I saw you fishing out there fishing while I was fishing! That's my home river and I just thought it was cool so yeah! Thanks for some quality content man 👌
Bro, you do this so well you’ve become the standard I hope to reach. Tradesman who has had enough with passing rivers, lakes and other fishy locations while stuck in the rat race. Lifelong fly guy who chases too many species because I love them all. But seriously, the capturing what we do and turning it into what you do versus just catching fish and having the experience are two different trout to land. Catching and catching on screen…… making the experience to those at home what it is for you….man. I laugh and hurt for you guys like I’m there on the trip. That’s what I aspire to. Hit me up if you ever wanna come to the Catskills and chase North Eastern trout or The Jersey Shore for some salty action!
I did the same kinda thing last spring Scottie. Threw couch cushions in my Pilot and boondocked a bunch of public in the NY Adirondacks. Solo time is important bud! I spend alot of time guiding and it's increasingly rare to fish for myself vs fishing and scouting for others.
this guy is literally the best fly fishing youtuber out there. he sits lower than 100k and he is making content that is better than all the big fishing youtube channels. thanks for keeping me hyped to fish!
@@micahkitchens2480 this channel and Leif’s(NW Fishing secrets) have inspired me to get back out there. Spent the day fishing today and caught 3 beautiful rainbow.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker I think it’s because the focus is more on videography, not fishing. He creates really high quality videos. Appeals to a different demographic.
It boggles my mind how fantastic the production value has been on every single video put out on this channel. Never disappoints, my favorite videos to watch on RU-vid!
Easily one of the best channels around. I love all the videos, even the last video with some ski action. It just shows your passion and how much fun you guys have out there. I'm always pumped when I see you post a new video!
This videos are pretty much the closest you can get to perfect. I never really thought you can tell a story this well, convey emotion, and have cinematography this good in a fishing video. And the music is nothing short of perfect,
Nothing wrong with a solo fish. A must at times especially these days. Stream fishing is my favorite and I can see the genuine enjoyment from you in this setting. Thanks for sharing it. Look forward to more, you do a fantastic job!
I’ve recently taken a long break from RU-vid and being able to come back and see this amazing content is incredible. I love these videos that capture the beautiful scenery and amazing fishing that Utah has to offer. Keep pumping out these bangers man!
You were fishing, placing cameras all over to cover your movement, flying the drone , all at the same time!! I know how immensely complicated and slow that can be and still the composition of the video was first class!! Thank you for making this video and sharing it!🙏👍
Scottie, you never cease to amaze me, another awesome video. I am definitely going to do a few solo trips soon. I have all the gear but have not done one in a long time. This will be fun, relaxing, and putting things back into perspective or what I call resetting. Something about Fly Fishing does that to you. Thanks for another great trip.
The amount of time and effort you would have to put in here is incredible. These solo trips are more than 50% of my own fishing so it’s nice to see something I can relate to. Welcome to Utah! Thank you.
The thing I love best about this channel is how great of a representation it is of a day of fishing… plenty of tree snags, plenty of “where are they?”, and still some fish to reward a great attitude. Thanks for the content, great stuff
Scotty just watched your video you are the best. Love the fishing, scenery, solo camping, everything you do for the world of fly fishing. Anytime your in PA would love to guide you on our local waters Keep up the awesome work.
Great video brother!!! It’s extremely fun to go solo sometimes, and it’s also important. As much as we need interaction with others, we also need to have some personal time away to reflect on our own lives. Beautiful fish and gorgeous scenery. Thanks for all your hard work and as always, can’t wait to see your next adventure.
That's some beautiful country and a great excursion! You did a great job in the videography of the trip, that seemed to take us along, instead of just giving us a front row seat. Thank you!
Your videography skills are godly! That descending shot!?!?! Man, this gets me so hyped!I usually fish alone so this really hit home for me. To see you film these shots while tossing flies and having you bring us for the journey is amazing. Thank you.
Greetings from PA! I can't wait to get out and get some camping and fly fishing in. I can appreciate the added challenges of self filming and fly fishing. You do a great job at getting different angels and lots of shots to keep it interesting! Keep up the good work!
Always look forward to your new videos. Love the variety you put out. You’ve inspired my husband and I to do different things outside over the last year-ish. THANK YOU! Now I’m headed to do some merch shopping 🙂
Hey man! I recently found your channel and just wanted to say thank you! I moved to Salt Lake a few years ago for school and learned how to fly fish on these waters and it’s amazing to see these places represented so beautifully in your work. Looking forward to more amazing videos.
Awesome content! This is the essence of flyfishing. Being outside. Face to face with the nature. Great Man! Thanks for letting us being part of this! Greetings from Germany!
I knew in the intro exactly where you were fishing. Pretty awesome to see you fishing my backyard, keep up the great work. The hole at 22:22 is an awesome one. I catch multiple fish every time I fish it.
Another automatic thumbs up. Solo - perfect! Every year late winter I get cabin fever and just go out solo - a backcountry gravel road drive w the binocs or fishing or ... This hit home. Well done! Good luck w all your summer adventures. Looking forward to the vids!
Makes my day when I see a new wild fly productions video come out. Just started fly fishing last week in NC and I’m never using a spinning rod ever again. Keep up the great work!
Love the simple just getting out vibe of this one! Gets me hyped up for the upcoming season! Sadly the rivers and streams are still mostly iced up and still feet of snow around here! Great stuff as always! Love the channel!
Wow! How awesome is that! I love the courageous steps you are taking not only solo but also with the guys on the Short Bus Diaries. I can escape just by watching your videos. Would love to see you guys go mainstream on like The Outdoor Channel or Pursuit or Sportsman’s channels! Your videos are of that caliber! Keep it up! And… Thanks!
Glad I stumbled on this channel and really dug what you said about letting yourself get board, it really is important and good for your mental. Thanks for yet another great vid 🤙
I actually just got back from a solo trip in Colorado. High in the mountains the headwaters of the rio grande. Was perfect, snowed all night and the following day. The fishing was amazing. Just love to do it.
That little cliff side run produced some really nice fish for me a couple of years ago. A nice little campground and stretch of river. Perfect for a quick overnighter or afternoon.
Your ability to maintain the quality of your videos even while solo fishing is uncanny!! The cinematography is a work of art i can’t imagine running a drone GoPro and camera while fishing it’s very impressive!!!
Great video. Really like how you have blended the music in with you comments and the scenery. I’ll leave the redfish, speckled trout, and flounder in Rockport, TX at the end of April for a 6 month fly fishing adventure on the Conejos and Los Pinos rivers in south central Colorado. Looking forward to seeing the short bus adventures this summer.
Gotta tell ya, little ole me in BC.. Loves, loves, loves the amazing content you provide... Cuddos man.. Hi five and cheers.. Thanks for making my rainy day very tolerable... 🇨🇦
Fish that gets away: "That was such a good fish!" Fish that is caught: "It's a decent little brown" I say the exact same things :) . Also, welcome to Utah! This state has a way of getting in your blood when you love the outdoors :) .
Honestly, the best sound and feeling in the world in complete silence. Being alone all the time is awful, but everyone needs to experience complete silence a few times in their life, and you have to be only to true get that. Only way to completely decompress. Dusk in the Adirondacks in the middle of a lake is where I get mine.
How surprised was I to see my all time favorite canyon featured on my all time fav Channel. If you ever roll through that beautiful (and secret😉) part of Utah again let me know. Me and my buddy love your stuff and it would be cool to show you around!
