I've discovered solo boardgaming (and this channel!) only recently. Ark Nova is an absolute favourite and Obsession is becoming, well, an obsession. Also like Terraforming Mars and Coffee Roaster. Best roaster in town for the last couple of games!
Hello and welcome, thank you for the watch!! Some great games there, Coffee Roaster is one of my favourite cozier games, you sound like a pretty good barista!! 😁
Great roundup! I'm so impressed you're still playing SO many games even without the challenge! I'm also very glad to hear you want to do a Genotype playthrough, I keep eyeing that one since you praised it in a vlog a bunch of months ago (I think this is real and I didn't make it up). Looking forward to that whenever you get around to it. I ended up with some extra money and grabbed a few things the last couple months, my current obsession is Revive. I got Revive and immediately played three games in a row. I adore the solo mode in the box. No automa, just a timer and a limit to your actions (similar to Ark Nova in some ways) but the combos, oh the COMBOS. Lots of interesting decisions, a little engine building, some card/hand/deck management, and the components are all so satisfying to move around. Highly highly recommend it. Was nice to get back to games after I lost a few weeks of gaming to setting up a new garden where I'm living. Wish my tomatoes luck in the Texas heat.
You didn't imagine it, I spoke about Genotype months ago!! Glad you like the look of it it's one that I'm pretty excited to get back out again. So many people have told me about Revive and it sounds so good! Looks great on the table too! So glad you're enjoying it 😁 Hope I get the chance to try it one day. And good luck with the tomatoes! 🤪
Thanks for the video, Rhiannon! Lots of games getting played which is always great to see! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed Maggie's variation on Stardew Valley.
Thank you for watching! Yes it was absolute chaos but so much fun! It's great finding a new way to play an already great game, I need to get in the habit of doing it more. 😁
Of the games I've been bingeing is Knarr on BGA adn I'm considering buying it because is looks gorgeous as well and I checked bgg for a solo mode and found out that Shem Phillips made one but then someone else built on top of that. Gave it a look and it seems simple to run. Knowing there's a solo mod for it makes the purchase that much sweeter :D
I've been working with MythWind. I am really enjoying. I didn't think it would be my jam, but I found a reasonably priced copy. I feel like it is what I thought Lands of Galzyr was going to be (which I really hated because it was semi-app based and actually got rid of.) I like the different characters you can play. Each character is completely different in terms of what they do. It's kind of wild actually.
