Wow if this is your first video , I can't imagine how good yours will be in a year, you set the bar high to begin. Now having said that I've watched some of your recent ones and yes all equally as good, great actually. You're a natural and no matter how long you're at this you're going to have snow fall off the trees like that, it's when it goes down the back that it shocks you lol. I like how you used the magnesium on wax paper to start your fire as I've seen from your other videos you're a skilled fire starter.

I think the snow often makes it even more peaceful. So quiet!

Speaking of the snow and being quiet. One of the best experiences I've ever had was a midnight horseback ride in soft snow in a mountain forest with a full moon. You are right about that. You could hear a pin drop and the forest was so bright with the moonlight reflecting off the snow. Try it sometime. It's a memory maker. 😊

He's since retired from RU-vid due to heath issues, but he made similarly sound-centric, contemplative videos about sojourns into nature. What a beautiful world we live in.

Yup, I decided to pick all those things up and learn....I have limited axe use but it's getting better. I've been learning as much as I can over the last few years😊

@@MistyMountainGirl Then good luck. I grew up with an axe and every winter in the forest. But I prefer sun and warmth🙂

@@MistyMountainGirl Oh don't think I enjoyed it. Every winter I had to go into the forest to make firewood with a saw and an ax. I hated it. But now I like to go hiking through forests in winter. You can even find food in winter on the trees or under the snow, herbs and grasses, even tree bark. OK, to be honest, I have my food with me 🙂
