Nice video! I enjoyed it. You are so fortunate to live where it is green with water. I live in southern California and we have green for about 2 months and the rest of the year is dry and brown. We have mountains but they are usually a long drive away. Solo hiking is so liberating and clears your mind. I've been doing it since I was 17 (I'm now 63) and still love it. Keep it up!
@@GirlOutdoors Visiting Great Britain is on my bucket list so I enjoy your videos. I tried to get my daughter into backpacking but she has only done it once in the San Jacinto mountains and hated it. The weather forecast said it would be about 65F degress (13.3c). Instead at night it snowed a little and got down to -2.2c (28f). She also thought her boots weren't very attractive. She is always going to be a city girl.
your doing realy well,,its nice to see that sense of accomplishment in your eyes , and as always the only u tube that erases the world for a wile and so soothing and relaxing to watch rock on girl! the world needs more people like you..
Hi Becky I live in the States. I came across your vids the other day and absolutely enjoy them. I love how you spend a lot of time with your father outdoors. Me and my daughter use to be that close until she turned 19 meet a guy I didn’t know about and moved out 6 months later. I don’t fit in her life anymore. Please keep your father close and talk to him every chance you get. Us fathers need that more than you know.
Thank you so much, sad to hear that your daughter doesn't spend as much time with you anymore. Thanks for the advice- you only get one dad :) take care
Hello my hiking friend. Thank you for sharing another fine video. You are quite the hiker/backpacker and bushcrafter. I always enjoy your wonderfully filmed video. You be safe out there and always take good care of yourself. 🤗
Such a beautiful place! Congratulations on exceeding your expectations. That's really something to be proud of. A whole day ahead! Thank you for making such great videos.
Awesome adventure. Always a pleasure when you invite us along. Sounds like your getting stronger since you covered ground so quickly, that's a good thing. You continue to inspire. Good job.

THANK YOU FOR THIS..it was truly wonderful to go along with you on this adventure..the views were wonderful..and congrats on your 11 miles in a day..many cannot do that..take care and safe journeys to you
Watched the two videos Becky. It is fantastic to see how you hike and camp. At such a young age it is so amazing. Love watching the videos. Keep doing what you enjoy. Look forward to next one.
There is nothing like the freedom of backpacking-having all you need stowed in your pack and an agenda only limited by camping locations and water sources. But yes, as you noted and doubtless felt, there are lighter materials than bushcraft items! No worries...it just means you can have different kits for different journeys, and that’s always fun if you love gear. Cheers, and thank you for making such lovely and restful videos (even from an arduous trek such as this!).
Hello from the Pacific Northwest, USA. Love watching your vids. Good on you for doing this hike. I see you doing one of the major through hikes in the world. That will be an adventure.
You can cut weight in little ways with little or no cost. Less alcohol, plastic container instead of metal, etc. Use a trash compactor bag to line your pack and just stuff your sleeping bag in the bottom and ditch the stuff sack. All those are a kg in savings. Little things add up. Great video. Love the cows. We don’t see those color patterns in the US. Brave girl for walking through them when you were scared.
another great trip young miss, thanks for letting me tag along on your great hike through the surrey hills.................................beautiful country.
Another great video blog Becky, I really enjoyed watching both parts. Eleven miles is a heck of an achievement, and one to be proud of. Well done. Looking forward to the next one x
Yes! Another beautiful video from the Lovely Grasshopper! "And into the woods I go...to lose my mind and find my soul." Truth spoken so simply...in one sentence! Sending love and hugs from those Great Smoky Mountains ~~^^*^^^~~*

that looks a great trail the greensands way hope to do it one day soon.so many true sayings on that dome you cant beat being at one with nature more people should get out there and learn about the countryside and wildlife around us it good to recharge your batteries and clear your mind ENJOY
Well done Becky. You did really well to hike 11 miles in a day. I've just got back from a three day hike around Dartmoor. Enjoying the last of the summer, you can see the seasons are starting to change. good tip about rice and porridge, nice and light weight. I love your tent too. Thanks for showing us a bit of Surrey.
Hi,a great video as usual, you can measure distance with your compass, it's all marked up, plus the blue squares on the map are set for certain distances as well, vertically and horizontally the distance is one km.and diagonally it is 1.5km.Happy adventures.
A fantastic hike and what a nature the view is absolutely wild, the waterfall by the small lake was beautiful. Maybe you could tell about that tower the next time you come by, I like the story behind old buildings a lot. We also have deer here they jump the fence into the garden and eat all the flowers, they even stand and look in of the windows, yes maybe they just mirror themselves, it is mostly the females that do. 😁 A rather long video, but far from boring, so very different makes it very interesting, just invite all of us viewers along and we are there with pleasure. Thanks for an incredibly nice video.
Thank you so much Benny for your comment, yeah I find history really interesting as well. There is quite a bit of history behind leith hill tower also. Take care and glad you enjoyed the video :)
Just finished watching both parts of your hiking trip. You are so nice to listen to, I love your lack of ego! I'm not far from the Surrey hills, I think I might follow the path you took. :)
What a fantastic hiking trip, so lucky to see dear too. Something I’m yet to experience on my walks. I’ve enjoyed both parts... great edits and accompanying music too 👍 can’t wait for the next adventures. ATB Russ
wonderful video Becky that's a great idea. with the food stash. And sharing food or supplies. As always God Bless you and your family love you my friend
In my last comment...I see you have what it take's. I don't see young girls taking on challenges like that. You be PROUD!! of yourself!! TWO THUMBS UP!!!
In the cache box you found you did leave something. You left a part of yourself by signing the book and leaving a message. The waterfall was so beautiful I think I would have spent the night there and freshened up with a bath or at least a cool swim. Love your videos here in the States you seem to be so at home in the wilderness. Peace and good will, Mike.
You should have left some fat wood, and "Becky’s guidebook for the outdoors" in the ammo box 😁👍👏👏👏👏 Love the little waterfall. Eleven miles, bravo👏👏👏👏👏 Great little adventure.
Great video! I’ve wild camped that area and recognise all those places you’ve been. Looks like you had a fab trip! I can’t wait to get back out there after the lockdown
Finding a treasure ammo box. We have the same eye color, but yours are bit lighter than mine. More curious cows. A bit of a jungle in the Surrey Hills. Did you clime the Leith Hill Tower? Approx. 11 mile walk you stated in miles. What would kilometers be? An excellent adventure video. To be in nature brings peace to our hearts. Thank you Becky for sharing. Wishing you a most wonderful day.
"Beauty in the mundane" is the title of the song. Thank me later lol. I'm new to your channel Becky, I love what you doing, great job. Love you. From Philippines!
Such an enjoyable trek ,, beauty all along the way.....sharing space with wildlife is always rewarding........nice gear selection and setup......Oh to be young and fit and finish the trail before planned... and at a shelter made of cookies !! (well it looked like it.....lol) ,.... Thank You for taking us along on your hike............Stay Safe and God Bless.............
That was cool, all those people signed that book and leaving things in the bucket. I think that is an army ammo box, they'd put bullet belts in there. Your Backpack was huge. When you were walking on that path all the way down that hill, all I could think of is ohh, she has to walk all the way back up to get her camera. XD The extra effort you put in to make good videos is well appreciated. As Bushwacker Man might say; very nice Becky, very nice. :D
Doing similar this week for 2 nights. Starting at Wotton, down to Leith Hill and across to Pitch hill up to the main road and a bus back to Wotton. Never been before but looks like theirs plenty of hideaways. Biggest concern is water, got a filtration system but are the limited streams flowing this time of the year? Sure I'll figure something out even if I have to buy it in a shop somewhere.
great little adventure, it was a pleasure to watch, you should have taken your friend or sister with you, ... that beer was for you btw, (you could have left your sunglasses behind)
Great wildcamping series. Me and my GF found an amazing spot in the South Downs recently. BTW, on OS Maps 1:25, each square is 1km, not 1 mile, quite a big difference so your pencil measurement was less than you think.
Beautiful video. So enjoyed watching. There is a state park near here where the deer are almost tame because no hunting is allowed. So much fun watching them.
I track all my hikes using Strava so I can record my mileage and elevation gain accurately. It also maps my trip and helps me to back track if I get lost. Not exactly bushcraft, but in NY bear country, getting lost isn't an option.
I like the pacing of your vid and the fact it’s mostly music free. Relaxing. I have a daughter - it’s quite a thought to think she could be doing something as impressive and independent as this one day. Subbed for curiosity.
Girl Outdoors literally 2 and a half so I think she’s some way off a 20kg backpack or your knife video. Your channel came up because I’ve been looking at outdoorsy stuff to do with them/without them. I look forwards to catching up with your vids.
Hey, So randomly found your channel lol 10mins into the video and I've subscribed and hit that bell icon. Nice vibes. Surrey has some beautiful places. Devils Punch Bowl is always a nice one to visit. Looking forward to your next vid. Just got back from a camping trip in Brecon...beautiful.
@@GirlOutdoors Youre welcome :) It was amazing!! I love it there. Plus It was really good as i took a few "non outdoorsy" people with me for a trip away. They loved it. Thanks for replying. Hope you have a good weekend.
Hi Becky, awesome video. Just check as I think you measured 1 kilometer against the pencil rather than 1 mile, the scale is in kilometers and miles. A kilometer is about 0.6 miles so 10 kilometers is 6 miles. Good to know if you need to check distances and things. Love your vids
Nice video. I have a couple comments that you might think about. What about taking a hammock and tarp (prob two) instead of a tent? The second will be good as a ground sheet too in case you need to make a tarp shelter using your walking poles. This will be very easy to setup in the trees and on sloping ground when your in forested areas. So that brings me to idea two, you could tackle this again in reverse and use the hammock instead so it's still a worthy video!. Final tip, if you see a lot of cattle look for a water trough - they also have to have water and if they have a proper trough it will have a clean mains water feed! :)
@@GirlOutdoors There are lighter and small Hammocks and Tarps than DD. Do you follow Shaun Kelly (Corporals Corner ru-vid.com)? He also work for/with Dave Canterbury . Also check this dude it's all about backpacking with a hammock: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wUjhiW3RKcA.html This one is about 200 grams! I think your a lot smaller than a 6 foot marine so it's probably big enough. They have a bigger option with included down under quilt but its a lot more money...
I loved your videos 😁 They are really well made & great to see a female bushcrafter for once. Good to know our British girls are kicking some hiking/camping/survival arse too!!! Even tho I don't know you I'm proud to support you! 👍
