@@Bb97jdiyc479 "Working out better than the brooks so far. Quick laces are nice. Dried quickly after crossing rivers. Need a few more hundred miles before I see where they come apart. Expect a review after Switzerland ✌🏻" - That's his words from facebook group.
Think about this folks. EVERY scene requires setting up a camera... taking a walk... stopping and returning to pick up the camera, then repeating the walk. OVER and over again, to create this video. Deep respect for the effort taken to provide this experience to all of us. Thank you Kraig.
NAHHHH KRAIG HAS GOTTEN SMART HE USES DRONES A LOT FOR HIS SHOTS SO LESS WALKING BAXK AND FORTH TO PICK UP HIS CAMERA DRONES CAN BE SET UP TO HOVER ABOUT 3 FEET OR SOOOO CAPTURING SHOTS YOU WANT
I did this hike July 2021. It's a wonderful hike. I hitchhiked back to Reykjavik at the end. It was a 97 mile hitch. I got a ride the entire way by Donny Dust who starred in season 6 of Alone. He was in Iceland filming a survival series.
I know you have way too many subscribers and probably get way too many comments to acknowledge mine but I wanted to let you know was a disabled person with cancer I get to live life vicariously through you. Maybe you think just people who like to hike and see the world watch you but it's actually people like me who can't. I can never say thank you enough for taking me to these beautiful places I can almost smell the air and feel the wind on my face. 🤜🤛
I don't know if it's something you would ever do but one thing I've always wanted to do and I cannot is hike the White mountains of New Hampshire. That's something I would love to see you do. The Kancamagus highway is beautiful and there are certainly breathtaking locations in this country. Give it some thought and thank you
I've hiked this route about 15 times, the first time in late August 1979. The reason I remember the date is that a fatal accident occurred after we started out hike in the river that you crossed on those two spindly pedestrian bridges - a group of 4x4s had attempted to drive across it a hundred yards or so upstream of the bridge but had been swept away by the current. We got to that hut the evening after and met some people who had been attempting to recover wreckage from the river.
Inspired by you to not just sit at home and get out there, I just did a 2 days hike in Norway, hiked Trolltunga, set camp after the first 25km and walked back the next morning. Now convinced to do this stuff more often!
I did the Laugavegur hike alone back in 1989, from Landmannalaugar to Skogar. Back then, there was almost NO tourism in Iceland, and apart from the huts at Thorsmork, I only met one other hiker on the entire trip. It was an incredible experience, and I'd like to do it again someday, but with all the attention it's getting, it's probably quite different.
Thank you so much for your RU-vid channel for bringing me adventures and journeys. Every time I see these places Feels like I'm searching for something of a journey.
Good stuff. Always appreciate the effort when so much time is put into a specific shot, specifically the drones, and then only 2-3 seconds of it actually make the final cut.
This is exactly what I needed after a long day at stressful work. It is inspirational and motivating to get out of comfort and make something out of the life we were gifted to have. Thank you so much for sharing and wishing you only the best.
It’s amazing to see beautiful drone shots of this trail. Thank you for that. I did the trail in 2019 and I am going back to Iceland again in 10 days for this trail. One of my favorites for sure.
Watching this brought back nice memories - i did the exact same itinerary a few years ago and spent some more days in Landmann and Thorsmork for day hiking
I haven't had a lot of time recently so now I'm just binge watching your last ~5-6 months of videos and I gotta say I don't think there was ever a channel that made me relax and appreciate nature as much as yours.
I did a 12 mile out-and-back last month starting at Skogafoss. It was one of the best hikes of my life. I counted over 10 waterfalls just in those miles of hiking.
Did this Hike solo last year . Need good rain gear and good tent . U can’t charge your power banks while on trail . U can charge in thorsmörk tho . Love this hike
Really awesome! I have a question: when you cross the river no water enters the shoes? If the water got into the shoes did your foot not rub . Thank you.
At least one trail I did before you ! Did Hellismannaleid and Laugavegur last summer : Rjupnavellir to Thorsmörk, a wonderful hike, but had to cancel continuing with Fimmvörðuháls due to weather condition and stop in Thorsmörk. Fimmvörðuháls from Thorsmörk to Skogar can be one of the most dangerous trail in Iceland when conditions are not good like you had, and is surely the one with the most rescuing operations. So for people wanting to do it : always check wheather conditions with the campsite warden in Thorsmork before leaving and don't trust what you see : we were under a very nice sun in Thorsmörk thinking we could do it but learned from the warden that it was only storm at the top and suggesting us not to do it... Avoid also leaving from Skogar without live weather information on the top, there is no warden to ask... When I stay in Thorsmörk one more night inside of hiking to Skogar, people hiking the same way did like me and no one left... The day after, we learned from the warden than people who started the day beafore from Skogar (the easy side...) without good advices/informations were stuck in Baldvinsskáli hut with no possibility of leaving, moments of storm and a visibility of less than 50 meters outside... Who knows what could have happened if we didn't ask the warden or follow his advice, and left... Hiking trails in Iceland is unique but just need good organisation and the right gear, never underestimate trails in Iceland even in summer (especially Fimmvörðuháls) and remember that you can find the trail is an easy and wonderful hike in good condition but a less lucky guy on the same way 3 days after you with bad conditions will perhaps find the same hike awful and dangerous... And thank you for having helped me with your videos to do the last step to start on the trails for more than one day, showing it was possible ;) I made Torres del Paine in March, and am planning hiking in Grand Teton in August !
Incredible drone Intro Kraig, I am not gonna watch further, as I am gonna do a public viewing event in the garden with your new piece today. Some cold drinks, BBQ, Friends, and a new Kraig Adams Masterpiece. So looking forward to it. Merci man
I'm going to Iceland this fall with two of my friends. We'll be renting a car and driving around the entire outside rim of the country in 14 days. I can't wait! Your Hornstrandir video is one I always come back to because I love it so much. Thanks for the inspiring content Kraig!
Excellent video. Have been to Iceland. Beautiful country. Stayed in the Reykjavik area. Felt very safe. Hope to get back there again someday. Enjoy Switzerland. 🇨🇭
i did this hike with three friends of mine when i was 15. we loved the landscape which is why we hiked into the night two times and it was amazing - no people, everything is silent and calm and since it doesnt really get dark in summer we had nothing to worry about.
GORGEOUS! Loving the music.. its 1/2 the reason I tune in! Thank you for taking me places I could never hike due to health issues.. what a BLESSING to be able to follow your hearts desire.. peace
My wife and I visited Iceland this past March and we did the Vatnajökull Glacier and Ice cave hike which has been the most beautiful hike of my life. Absolutely breathtaking. Hoping to go back in the summer and do this amazing hike and possibly head out to the Westfjords. We drove around the country counterclockwise and plan to drive clockwise the next time around.
can always rely on Kraig Adams solo hikes to quieten the mind and feel at peace - the perfect way to end the day halfway through quarantine in Hong Kong
