naw its because he speaks Spanish well and he is friendly. Latin America actually likes white people that arent snobbish and treat them as an equal. I lived in mexico for a year, 20 years ago and the people where great and treated me well.
Yeah, he's real good at managing himself and people around him, even when things get tense. He just plays it without creating more escalation...that's a real skill
haha thats no hair, is fibers from the tail of onions, by the way, never....never enter to alleys asking for coke again, not just in Mexico, any where.
Mexicans are great people. Generous and hard working. Butcher gives Kurt a shot from his own bottle. I’m glad Kurt was able to catch that on film. Bravo !
I don't think they were drug dealers just more like a group of friends chilling drinking getting high people do that all the time in America and other places around the world just because it was in Mexico now they were drug dealers think there's drug users lol
09:57 NOTE FOR FOREIGNERS. Kurt aked for a "coca cola" and in some cases, specialy foreigners asking for "something else" can reffer to cocaine as "coca" or even "coca cola" just to not be so evident regarding their final goal and of course this is not the situation but the vendor understood it so wrong. For that reason the vendor advised Kurt to go inside a hot spot where ilegal activities like selling/using drugs were taking place. In México we reffer to sodas as "refresco(s)" This can be helpful if you go out into such a place like La Merced or popular street markets. Beware and be safe my dear foreigner tourist.
Am i the only one binge watching these great videos? It’s great to see these other countries and the way people live. Thanks for sharing brother. God bless the U.S.A
You honestly have an angel watching over you man...the fact nothing bad happened to you considering you put yourself in easy targetable situations is beyond me 🙏🏽 be safe man. Not everyone is as friendly as you think.
Key rule to staying safe, don't look like a tourist. Some people don't care if you're friendly or not, evil exists, not everyone, but all it takes is the wrong group of people and they'll vanish you. if you're lucky you just get robbed. Bargaining with "I'm a youtuber" or "I'm a tourist" they won't give a shit. Now those group of guys bought you that beer maybe to set you up, then you buy more beers, get you drunk, do a little coco puff's (coke with weed) and you won't remember how you ended up passed out in an alley or hotel...yes it does happen. That boxer in the SUV and that Italian guy warned you, so they know what's up. Try to blend in, don't use cameras. People need to buy those camera's that look like glasses. I'm not from Mexico, but I could blend in there, but I wouldn't be walking around with a Go Pro or some big Nikon camera making myself stick out like a tourist.
i think he will learn that the hard way someday.all drunk ,with locals and maybe someone start with some political shit or sports....there will be a fight most of the times.
I knew he was in a dodgy situation with those guys. Thought the guy who pointed him there was setting him up, but now it makes perfect sense.. he asked for "Coca, Coca Cola".
I’ve been binge-watching your videos over the past few days. Mostly watching the newer ones, but I have to say- your Spanish has gotten SO much better in the past 8 months!
It is fun, it's just the stupid media that only talks about the negative stuff, but every country has there good and bad. People who traveled to Mexico to find out for themselves ended up loving the country, the people, the culture and some of them loved it so much that they decided to move to Mexico.
If its so good why is there literally millions of Mexicans living in the US, and endless numbers still coming? Also why are so many Mexicans telling him to be careful and dont go here or there. Kurt looks like a strong young guy but for normal tourists its dangerous. After dark its much worse. Then if Kurt gets robbed, the police will laugh at him and do nothing because they are working with the gangsters. The murder rates are incredible in Mexico.
I’m not gonna lie I’ve been following you for over two years now in I don’t know why, but I always go back and see your videos. They’re pretty entertaining. Thanks for what you do and showing us the world.
I have no idea where you are today but watching you there in Mexico on that day was very entertaining and highly enjoyable! I’m a Mexican American who has roots in Michoacán, Puerepero, to be exact. Watching videos of people enjoying their travels to my motherland gives me a feeling of peace and comfort. Thank you for sharing. It keeps this Kansas boy grounded! Peace. Ciao!
That guy in the car was a prof boxer. What he said was be careful here they will rob you of your camera be careful lmao my man you need to learn Spanish so you can receive the warnings lol
Man! you end up in the best situations. Your approach is amazing... when someone yells at you rudely, you approach them with "todo bien" and they always change their tone. I usually stay away from a lot of strangers on my adventures, but I may implement some of your ways. Brilliant!
Dude I think Ur videos are great thank you for sharing. I have done my share of traveling but u take it to the next level on Ur own very brave guy. Would love to meet up and listen to Ur stories. I'm glad u like Mexico city they are great people always happy. It's sad the rest of the world can't b like that. Thank you and will keep watching. Aka Steve Mexico DF
Kurt, I just found your blog a few days ago and I love it. Thank you for posting content you don’t normally see on RU-vid. You made me miss Mexico! Stay safe!
Saludos !
Mexicans are the best people on earth!!. Very friendly and just are so nice to others. Mexico is a great country. I am so looking forward to learning Spanish and visiting Mexico at some point. God bless you and please be safe!!. Viva Mexico!.
soy de mexico pero estoy de acuerdo con el comentario, en cualquier lugar del mundo estas en peligro si no conoces y te guías a lugares desconocidos con extraños
10:22 - I know Kurt is street wise & can look after himself etc. but I can't believe he didn't turn around at that scene... clearly that's not your average soft drinks vendor!
When I was a young little boy my family stopped at the border of Mexico and passed and I still remember it to this day. Filled with markets and tiny stores we went inside and as a kid it was awesome exploring and seeing the different candy and food but in a different language it was a culture awaking experience for sure and I'm grateful my parents took me there but I plan to one day actually do a tour of Mexico!
I absolutely love Mexico City. Been there once in 2019, and I can't wait to go back. Such beautiful architecture/landscapes, unbelievably fresh and delicious food, and friendly people. Never really felt unsafe except for walking around Centro Historico at night when I saw some dude get curb-stomped.
As US born Mexican-American, I love your Mexico videos. I used to take yearly trips to Mexico, but stopped when I had kids. I miss it greatly. Like everywhere else that is poverty stricken, there is crime, no doubt, but watching the hospitality and love of the common Mexican folk is heartwarming. My people make me so proud. Viva la Raza!
I felt so anxious when you walked inside of that solitary market trying to buy a Coca Cola with that gang. These kind of guys are "lacras" and sometimes they don't give a shit about nothing. Take care of yourself Kurt. Love your channel!
Lol those guys were cool they are just drunkies they even bought him a beer and gave him a shot. The dangerous places are in the north side now that’s where you have to be careful
@@jhay4256 yea and he mentioned that they wanted him to buy them 5 beers for 100 pesos, they probably asked if he would be down and understood it as a force.
I hope u hooked up my man at the end he did you a solid getting you out of that area maybe you were being scoped by some one and he noticed and rescue you by taking u to the metro.
Kurt. I love your gonzo style and your bravery in just going with the moment. I'm glad I found your channel. Very entertaining to watch while I'm unable to travel. Ek is ook 'n Suid Afrikaner. Voorspoed!
Bro towards the end when the guy started putting his hand on the camera they where starting to get wild I woulda been nervous af in alley surrounded by strangers doing drugs and drinking fuck that hahaha
wan't a trap, if it, then they would have robbed him. Things happened and suddenly one or two of them thought they could ask him for the 5 beers, but I beleive, the others, like the one that gave him the beer defended him. As you can see he went out with his camera.
@@moibe182 that's not what a trap house means. It doesn't literally mean a house meant to trap people. A trap house refers to a place that is used to sell drugs and to do other illegal stuff.
I lived as a gringo in Mexico City for A couple of years. Him going down that alley was just straight up crazy. He is luck he got out of there unhurt and with all his possessions.
When you were looking for a coke and you went into that place I was so scared something would happen. I'd never ever enter a place like that, it was screaming "alert" everywhere. Glad nothing happened but this was intense to watch. It's not that Mexico is not safe, but as in any city, there are "nice" places and "bad" places. The moment the guy with the beers started asking you if you were filming I was just thinking they'd steal it in the best case scenario...
If someone comes straight to me trying to befrend me without telling me hebis filming me id feel like he thinks im a zoo animal, it is actually disrespectful to film anyone while acting casual to make them your content. But hey it seems to give big results as people line to experience things vicariously the sad part is that it does spoil you many good things about landing somewhere and experimenting everything with your entire body that your head did not learn before
Kurt I am loving your Vlogs. You are very much like myself and I always go to the natural parts of any country I see. I am from the uk but blend well in Spanish countries but you seem to blend everywhere. Loving your posts. Keep safe and keep exploring.
Anytime they send you down an alley it’s not a good sign. The whole in the wall for that store was the second sign. The third was the apprehension to him recording. There were signs.
I love that people were letting you know to be careful with your camera cause it is true your drawing attention to yourself n if the wrong people see that they can try and take advantage knowing that your mostly likely not familiar with the area but I love the video man keep it up and be safe
Ay, been binge watching your adventures!. Love that you're enjoying your time visiting and experiencing the REAL culture. I'm a new subscriber. Take care! :-)
Yes it could absolutely be considered as an invasive agressive behaviour. I dont let anyone i dont know film me, whatsoever and im a cool cat to hang out with
Viva Mexico 🇲🇽 omg You’re so cool 😎 really enjoy your channel ‘ amazing vibe it’s contagious!! God bless you please be safe ! Be careful don’t trust just anyone!! Be safe
@AV 661 lol sorry for not staying in my littol tiny resort sipping my piña coladas when I travel. I am sure you get to experience a lot about a country when you travel 😅
@AV 661 ha ok there mr 6’1! For your info outdoor supermarkets all across South America tend to look like that they are called “mercados”. Loud, messy, hot . Every adventure traveller must of bought from these genuine places that give one a taste of true culture. Yes no AC, not inside grocery stores... spooky I know. These “stupid places” as you call them for the common “ I go to resorts only” ppl might look terrifying. But, they are not... although there is always a risk, if you go during the day and act and look humble it will be fine. I will hold ur hand if u need to.Ofcrs u can’t bring an iPhone12 or hold a camera (unless ur making a sick RU-vid vid like this one lol)
I think that the man at the meat stand was being genuinally friendly when he offered that tequila shot for free, there's good and bad people in every neighborhood, you met both on that market. I got to say YOU HAVE BALLS MY FRIEND for going to that place by yourself.
Watching this video for the first time and wow The events that’s transpired for you to get to the coke house was crazy. As a latino I know that these alley ways are extremely dangerous. One of the guys even jokingly said it’s gonna cost you 5000 pesos. Someone in the background starting shouting “he’s recording” and that’s when the other gentlemen that handed you the beer got a little shaken. That’s why he started 11:59 asking you if you were recording. Good thing to stay confident and let them know you’re a youtuber. Amazing Vlog.
@@kI-cq5xq that kind of onion they gave him has little things that look like hairs, the "hair" looked white so thats why i think it was from the onion too
@@user-yb3sy8pn9m I mean, I’m mexican and I can tell you some sauces are deadly, and that was a Habanero sauce so that sauce most certainly was really hot.
