I leveled 1-51 with hatchet+Lifestaff in the original game and it was quite good. Good attack damage and good healing ability. I highly recommend it. I didnt take it to level 60 because I got the hatchet and LS to 20 and then switched to try other weapons. Rocking hatchet + sword to level 60.
A video of that would be great! But the Hatchet is a carry-machine. It's Death Defy, Berserk, and disengage possibility makes it a 10/10 Solo weapon all the way through end game!
This build is great and all if you aren’t doing Fresh Start, but what about the Fresh Start people who are starting over? They aren’t going to have all those high level components in their inventory. what is the best Fresh Start leveling build?
The build that Baggins shows is in fact a levelling guide for fresh start - he explains the order of skills you should pick and a general concept of the build. In the early levels your build does not matter too much and by the time your lvl 20ish you will be able to start replicating what he is showcasing here. Hope that helps!
@@janergy8115 the question i think he means to ask is for the first build the hatchet and life staff build, until we can get the amber jewel to scale damage with nature, where would we put our points. Since healing and damage are so completely different.
Noob question: As someone who's looking to be a healer main, should I stick with a healer build from the get-go, or a leveling build then respec later?
On my legacy server I leveled with LS/Hatchet just bc it can be time consuming to level skill tree for LS. Then switched to LS/VG, which will be what I start with on FSS since VG is avail from start
I think this is a preference type of thing. Either way is fine. Just different is all. Also would depend if you will be grouped up more often or solo more often. The more pure type healer build will be harder in solo compared to being in a group obviously. That's not to say healers cant solo. Just might take longer or a bit harder soloing although hatchet + Lifestaff is quite good at soloing if you plan to use lifestaff on your main.
"We have these gems.... that you can't get....but look at all of mine lmfao" This build was fine until level 32 where I changed to all light armor for 0 benefit. I just started to die all the time. I don't understand the benefit of going light with Staff/hatchet build. very frustrating. Also impossible to find gems without mining, which is another hassle.
I'm new to this game but after 2 minutes of research I can tell you this. Light armour improves your Dodge roll and increases your Damage & Healing. Gems are obtained from mining but you can pick them up super cheap on trade.
yeah, light armour is good for up to level 25-30, then its just heavy, the 20% more damage is useless if you die in literally 1 second agaisnt the easiest enemy
@@scottishmug9623 im not good enough to dodge everything, and fighting more than 2 or 3 enemies makes it almost impossible to use close range without getting hit at least once, i've been having a greater time blocking and using heavy armor, i might just be the worst nw player tho
Its possible, but it's not that good unless youre doing large scale, even then youre just gonna be cc'd a lot, 1v1's people will either fight when your cd's are up or poke from afar
For people coming back to the game, the fresh servers allow them to have enough people to do things with. I know when I came back it was almost impossible to get a group for anything at lower levels.
Because of all the first, second, third wave abusers that were NOT banned or removed items. I have 240 hours that I was ready to throw at any point to get a fresh start on a patched game where people start at the same point.
On launch I played hatchet and life staff. It bored me senseless and as a result I left the game at lvl 52. I came back and tried different weapons, luckily I tried the bow first and it completely changed the game. So, when posting “best builds” I see them as very counter productive to the games industry and can actually put people off of games! I’m very tired of seeing “best build” and “tier” videos as I believe it’s really damaging the community and making young impressionable gamers less tolerant for people that play out of these builds. As a result you’re left with a “meta” toxic community. Please stop! Make videos about how fun things are, subjective I know but this ad revenue culture is a hateful one imho. :( by all means be informative stating strengths and weaknesses but stop trying to pidgin hole large parts of the community for profit! Please?
So different players prefer different weapons/builds and have to filter info provided by content creators through their own brains and experience?!... SHOCKER! Why did it take you so long to realize you didn't like a weapon combo and maybe try something else...
It's a simple cocktail, first you pay a bunch of content creators to stream your game. Then you put your game on sale for $20, so all their fanbois can buy-in on the hype. Mix in some Amazon/Steam bots to pad the numbers (reference nwdb info) and you have a hype train. Which in the end will always run out of fuel when the next thing comes along, or they get bored.
What’s your point? Do you blame them? I never played the game on release so I’m enjoying taking my time to 60 since the end game is not that great. You’re r right about one thing, when it gets boring I’ll find another one…
