You can. You just have to get them into the more grounded stuff first. Like Vinland Saga, to then work them into Ghost in the Shell and/or Cowboy Bebop, then get them to watch Psycho-Pass. It's how I broke my sibling down. Soon they were just addicted the genre entirely. Being the moment you show them the stuff that looks more movie related grounded but just drawn as Animations. They'll be more open to other forms of Animation. Being that's when I started showing them Fantasy Action stuff and started with Berserk and then to Fate/stay night. Then Attack on Titan. Then Fullmetal Alchemist. It was a very well planned breakdown till they got on my level lol. You have to go from more serious to then stuff like Sword Art Online only 1st season. By then they are hooked. Being when people who don't watch anime hear about it they think magical girls, hentai, and just big eyed characters who are goofy. Being the Cosplay depictions and Cos Thots don't help. Especially with all the lude posters. They don;t want to feel like a degenerate because those are the things mostly portrayed. It has to be a well thought out list with a captivating story that feels like a novel. Once you get them in with enough of that they become more open minded to the entire genre. Personally I moved more onto Chinese 3D animation because Japan been slipping on a lot of 2D anime. Yet they are always still gems to be found. Yet China is killing it right now with some epic 3D animations that are far beyond game cinematic movie level. I can easily see it taking over in the future. If not a lot of manga or novel writers switching to 3D Animation by how epic they are making their projects. Kind of like Battle Through the Heavens, Wu Dong Qian Kun - Martial Universe, Bai Lian Cheng Shen - Apotheosis, Shen Yin Wangzuo - Throne of Seal, Xingchen Bian - Stellar Transformation, Cang Yuan Tu - The Demon Hunter, Soul Land, Wanmei Shijie - Perfect World, Yong Sheng - Immortality, Xi Xing Ji - The Westward, Wu Geng Ji, etc. Man its just so many great ones I can't even name them all. If Solo Leveling was made by any of these creators of these shows and turned into 3D Animation I wouldn't even be mad. You just have to watch them to understand. Plus as Unreal Engine improves so does the quality of so many of these shows as they end up progressing. Some of the fight scenes are other wordly in how the vfx and cinematography are pulled off.

I love stories they convey your view of the world. He is the Shadow king stories are meant to be told and shared in whatever format works the best. Never stop enjoying the story.
