Nice, I am almost 65 with some back issues. Getting the mast up and lifting less is s very helpful for me. Looking forward to get this equipment Thanks for the video. Fair winds.

Very informative tutorial on a product I didn't know existed. But if the cost is near $2000 I'm sticking with the ATN for now. I like the idea of hanging the jib halyard to it, but if the jib is already up with a roller furling then that's a big hassle to use. I'll pay kids in the yard to hoist me and make sure my winches are in good condition.

Nice presentation of a neat gizmo, but the best part of two grand is likely way too rich for the average recreational or cruising boat budget, where it will only see very occasional use. More suited to club, rental or commercial use. Also, at max lift it looks like it will put the chair attachment point 12 -18 ins below the halyard sheave, making the mast head difficult to reach....it's already a bit of a stretch with most chair rigs. I'll stick with my ATN ascender.

I used the ATN for years, but at almost 70 years old it was difficult to use. The Endless Rope puts you about 7ins below the mast top, but with the mast harness (for standing) I can reach the top to change a light or work on the wind instrument. Most boaters I know climb the mast about 2 times a year, some more if they are doing any upgrades, such as my self. Thank you for your input and watching.

Very informative video regarding this product, it seems to be almost effortless. At 1.300,- Euro it’s very pricy, but I guess if one has no assistance to go up the mast, then it’s money well invested.

Hi Rob, it is a little pricey,but it so easy to use. several of my boat neighbors are going in together and getting one.

Nice video. A product I didn't know existed but at that price I'm afraid is out of my reach. I would like to have seen more actual use demonstration of it with someone going up and down the mast did you do a video on that as one of your comments mentioned?

thank you, i will try to get more video of going & and and back down. Regarding price I have seen where 2 to4 people pitched in and they share it.

1500 to 1800 for the mast lift. It looks to be a safer alternative when doing it alone. Otherwise if you don't have someone able bodied to winch you up, it is a good alternative. Probably best for rigging inspectors and such, and solo sailors.

I think it would be a great idea for a sailing clubs

So I assume your next video will show you actually ascending to the top of the mast and demonstrating this fine piece of equipment?

My question was the ability to get to very top but you answered it with the bosun chair foot straps. Does it come with chair?
@VagabondEpicurean
@VagabondEpicurean 7 лет назад
No, it is an add on items. I am going to try and make some foot straps, but i think the one Swi-Tec offers($175.00) is going to work better, we will see :)

Rather use block and tackle or prusik srt climbing methods... That thing is huge heavy and imho dangerous.... Using electric stuff can't be done if you have power out at sea.... Always best to rely on manual means for everything besides you need the workout....
@VagabondEpicurean
@VagabondEpicurean 5 лет назад
Thank you for watching. This is all manual, no electric required. I think it is the safest solo way of climbing. Just my way of looking at it.
