2:06 Is that really Spam in a packet? Who knew such a thing was possible, we only have it in vans this side of the pond. Yet another great vid, thank you Staci for showing me yet more of the US I want to ride - one day I'll bite the bullet and ship my Triumph over for a season.
Lol! I’ve only been able to find the packets in one grocery store chain here in the US. It’s definitely not a common thing yet! Thank you, glad you enjoyed it Alex!
Was thinking the same thing, note to self there's more packable easier to deal with the waste spam. Oh, by the way having spam in your vans sounds uncomfortable. hee hee.
There are three rides in the Western Slope that I recommend. 1st, West Elk loop, from Gunnison, go North to Crested Butte, turn left/west at the 4 way stop and ride to the end of town where the dirt starts, continue over Kebler Pass to Paonia State park, take 133 West past the town of Paonia to Hotchkiss, go south to Lake Fork @ US 50 and head East back to Gunnison or 2nd, just East of Lake Fork, past Sapinero is the Lake City Cut Off (dirt) which takes you to CO 149 which can take you back to North to US 50 or South to Lake City. 3rd is CO 1, take CO 131 North off of I-70 @ Wolcott to State Bridge, turn right on CO 1 and ride through some beautiful scenery on this dirt road to Kremmling (@US40), from there, you can go to Steamboat, Grand Lake, etc. These dirt roads are very well maintained and you will see 2, 4, 6, wheelers now and then and even the occasional horse trailer. (I saw a flock of hundreds of sheep being herded over Kebler once). BTW, you can also turn East on 133 from Paonia State Park to go to Redstone, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Aspen and Independent pass. For the best Mexican food on the Western Slope, from the corner of Main and Tomichi in Gunnison, go South 50yds. Across the street from the Elks Lodge. Note: some of these dirt roads may be seasonal.
Staci, 90k.. how great that is 😂❤, did you go 90 mph 💨 fast also? Wooweee. That is a trip that hwy 50 from Sac goes all that way to the East Coast🤔. Goodness Goodness..still looking good, enjoying every moment & place you go to. Always with that all American Woman Smile Go Staci🤗.. God's Speed and Happy Trails Happy Biker. GOOSE From Cali 🙂
Staci I only watch your video while eating lunch or dinner or the delicious eye catching food you share in the video makes me hungry hahaha. As always great video! enjoyed every second of it. thanks for taking us along on this wonderful trip. Keep having fun and ride safe 🤘🤙
I used to go up there quite a bit. There is a great restaurant in Cfrested Butte and I just can't remember the name of i. It is a true short order place with a cook that is a real show. The food was incredible. I think Crested Butte is my favorite place in that part of Colorado.
The more I watch your videos, the more I want to tour around Colorado. I've already added Arkansas to my list of 'Rides To Do' and now Colorado too. Hopefully I can get back on the rode before the end of September after a blown head gasket & cylinder. It's Route 66 this year. Thanks and keep uploading your videos.
I have a 21” front wheel and when those 18 wheelers go by on a windy day at speed it gets my adrenaline up. With all those miles I am sure you have had some wild moments on the road.
In 2017, the summer after my senior year of high school, my two best friends and I took a two week camping trip up to Crested Butte/Gunnison in a LOADED down astro van. Maybe we'll have to do it again on bikes.
That pizza looked amazing, the dive burger just made my list for sure and that is a super awesome route, ridden most of it many times! Great edit as usual.
Thank you! If I had to pick between the Dive and Marios, i'd pick Mario's next door. It's the best pizza i've ever had and while im not a big pizza fan, I would ride across the country to eat there haha
Colorado on motorcycle looks amazing. Awesome job on this episode. Fantastic production values. Great mix of vlog, POV and drone. Love, love it! I truly appreciate your work. Looking forward to the next one.
I love the way your travel. I rode through Colorado back to Ohio after completing the PCH in 2022. I fell in love with Colorado and enjoyed watching your trip. Adding Cottonwood Pass to my next trip to Colorado!
I love that you caught the odometer flipping over to 90k. I do milestone rides for my bikes where I plan a route so at a key spot (photo op), the odometer hits that magic number. I may have let my Road King down, though. I just got back from a 2k mile trip (gave the great nieces and nephews their first rides) and I have 12 miles on the odometer before 75k. That's gonna be hard to come up with a decent milestone pic. Although after that ride to WA and back, I don't think the Road King is gonna complain. I rode Cottonwood back in 2015. It was a gravel/dirt road then. Nothing remotely difficult, but it kept my speed down on a long day from Redstone to Independence Pass then down to Cottonwood and through Gunnison to Montrose (cue Bad Motor Scooter). TBH, I'd probably prefer it paved. I was on my F800GS, but I don't think the lack of pavement worked in its favor, IMO. I fared better watching your video this time. I was eating a late lunch while watching it, so I was not cursing your name. 😉
what No Snow?/..lol 90k some good miles there...if they dont use oil then just keep rideing them... great vid as always cheers Knee;s in Da Breeeezzzeeeeeee......
If you haven't, check out Garlic Mikes in Gunnison for dinner. Great Italian/American food and for a historic (1800s) hole in the wall saloon, Kochevars in C.B. on the West end of Elk.
@@ridetofood I'll check it out. I go to Gunnison for a month every Summer and camp at Blue Mesa in Curecanti. Either Steven's Creek or Elk Creek. It's only $8/nt with an Access Pass. There are other places to camp around the reservoir, some free.
Rad to catch this milestone which is why I think it would be cool to spend a moment during each video’s intro to mention what bike you are riding, especially for that 100k trip! You know we like to nerd out on that stuff. 🤙🤙
I saw you had a different helmet on the Dyna. You most likely told us what it is in another video and I didn’t notice. I had a 2004 BMW GS1150 that I put 82,000 miles on and I traded it in for my 2008 Electra Glide Ultra after our dealership went out of business a few years ago during the recession. Man, I miss that bike. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend. I still love my Harley, but I’m poor as well and couldn’t keep them both maintained with no dealership support anymore. There might have been a few tears in my eyes but nobody can prove a thing without pictures. Lol
I will check it out on Revzilla. I have an old Shoei Neotec (the first one) that I’ve had for a long time. The Neotec 2 might be just as good but whew! I know I didn’t pay that much for the first one. I nearly choked on my eyebrows when I saw the price. 😳. Thank you for the info Staci.
Was nice to see you use Butler maps. I used them for the first time this year on my ride to Montana,Idaho and Wyoming. Going to use them for Colorado on next years trip
SPAM!! HELL YEAH! I'm happy to see you're not squeamish about eating all parts of an animal. I never get tired of these roads. Thanks for the ride along!
I'm about to hit 90k on my 17 street glide, I'll be heading to colorado and zig zag my way to vegas here in a few weeks! Then I'll be trying to hit that 100k mark.
Technically, the one right after this was (headed to sturgis) but this is the last video with this bike that will be on the channel for quite some time if I had to guess lol
Always look forward to your videos, they are entertaining and well produced. I lnow you love Lemmy but will you be getting a Pan America of your own somday?
😶Was referring keeping what you like, like the old sayin why fix what aint broke. Low rider cruizes great and fits you great. By the way you always make me hungry at night watchin you cook some of those meals, just be safe out there.@@ridetofood
@@ridetofood Right on. Back in my drinking days, I spent so many paychecks at the brewerys up there. Crazy Mountain brewery was my favorite. I could park at the rest area and sleep it off
This is my favorite RU-vid channel because it features Babes, Bikes and... Bread? Bananas? Burgers smothered in a bolognaise sauce? I don't know, the last part's a bit tricky. I'm so sorry.
FYI you can swap the engine with a 103 inch (with fuel injection), change bearings front to rear, change motor/swingarm mounts and that scoot will be good for another 100k for about $4,000 all in.
@@ridetofood What do you mean no? There's several sub 20,000 mile 103's on ebay right now, a couple have transmissions attached, delivered to your door for $2,000. The rest are just bearings and labor to do the swap & install the bearings.
I just did Monarch Pass a couple months ago. Have you ever stopped at that mountain rock spring just west of the summit? I filled my water bottle from it and didn’t die 😂 but curious about others experiences.
Do you book your camp sites out way in advance? Didn't seem like it. Always wanted to bike camp, but I've about given up camping due to everything always being booked up. Great video, sub'd, will be catching up!
Just depends. National parks? Yes. Other places? Usually a couple of weeks or I’ll check on a whim to see what’s available. People cancel last minute all the time. I don’t go camping on weekends which helps.
@@ridetofoodI think your Low Rider ST would your best bike for your travel style. I seem to remember that there was a video or two where you were on a Road Glide, but I don’t recall if you said it was your bike or not. That bike would also be a great bike for chewing up highways, but being that you also hit some off-road places, taking 1k lbs of bike and gear down a dirt road could make a great day into a not so great day 😂! If you ever watched any of Million Dollar Bogan’s videos you’ll know that he has taken his RKS to places where you would never expect a tour bike to go! 😂 So taking a touring bike off-road is possible, but maybe not advisable 😅
