Living the retirement dream .that’s for sharing ya stickers local small town restaurants and moth man sounds like perfect trip to me and you got home safe most important all thumbs up 👍in my book !!!
Beautifully made video from this trip. At arriving home, I was explaining to see a big hug and a kiss 💋 to queen Kathy upon serving the tee. Secondly, what is this love for twisty tiring roads ? 😜
SE Ohio is quietly some of the best riding area out there…basically any road with 3 digits are more than likely a great road. Lol. Hope you come back Craig
Craig, So many observations. First, eating as you do on the road trips, you should weight at least 300 lbs. But, more importantly, thank you for explaining the Mothman thing. As an Ohio native, I remember well the collapse of the Silver Bridge. Ohio and Kentucky always argued over who owned the bridge as the NW Ordinance of 1787 made it the north shore with Kentucky owining all the river. After the collapse, Ohio was happy to say, "it's yours." But, how the Mothman appeared in the story I never understood. Now I do. The series on the rides has been excellent. I think I'll make that route later this year. Fall would be excellent. With the extended trip of Southern Ohio, betting you are kind of glad last year's trip was shortened. Kathy was right to be mortified.
It seems as if rain has been the name of the game this riding season. I have had so many rides cancelled or had to take a cage as heavy or severe storms came across our area. I did get nice weather for the Wing'd Rider Rally last week, but we got two evenings of storms there. Ride safe!
Sorry you didn't have that great of a meal at the Triple Nickel Diner. We had a lovely farm-to-table lunch last year while at the Buckeye Plain 'n' Casual Moto Guzzi Rally over Labor Day.
Ha! I'm wearing that exact "555" T-shirt watching this..... Because of routing errors(not mine), the weather and the caterers getting my wife sick this wasn't the best of tours. Unfortunately, I find this happens often when I leave planning to others and there's large groups involved. I'd like to go back to the area sometime under my own direction, as I feel like I missed a huge portion of the good riding. Anyway, riding the 555 did go well and was the highlight of the trip. There was no rain while we were on it and I got to the front of the "fast" group so the pace was decent for a fun ride on that ribbon(except for the chip & seal Ohio DOT saw fit to do on the last few miles😶) .
Sorry to hear your wife got sick. That is never fun. But, it is definitely worth another trip to the area. There are things I was not able to do as well.
Southeastern Ohio has many excellent roads and I wish we had the time to ride more of them. Hoping to make it out there later this year. The Mothman is on my list of things to see in West Virginia. Looks like you had a great trip! Thanks for sharing
Brilliant series. everyone associates rain with the UK, but i think you get more rain in the USA than us. although we are expecting thunder storms today, so holding off going out ton the Tiger 1200 for now. looking forward to the next trip
Thanks for yet another well done mini-tour video series Craig. They really give the flavor of the areas you travel through, and although I prefer the western half of the US, your vids are interesting and fun to watch. 🏍 . Finally got my beard to your length. Couldn't stop playing with it and getting food/drink in it, so it had to go back to 1" length. Oh well. 👴
Thanks! Having a long beard can be a lot of work and riding is not the best for it. That is why I trimmed it last time as well. Trying to let it be this time around.
