Solo overnight stay on the Elbe with tarp and sleeping pad
My tour at the beginning of March 2022 took me to the Elbe.
I walked about 2 hours until I found a place to sleep and take pictures.
My main focus on this excursion was capturing a time lapse from sunset to starry sky. With my Canon EOS 6D II, I shot around 3,400 individual images, which were later incorporated into the video using an image sequence.
The recording lasted from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
I am quite satisfied with the recording, although I still see room for improvement ;-)
It was quite cold - around -2°C at night. Starting a fire wasn't an option as I didn't have much distance between me and the nearest housing development. For this reason and for lack of time, I used my old camping stove for cooking and unfortunately not the beloved bushbox.
This time, when I arrived at the appropriate place, the first thing I did was cook, then pretty quickly set up/prepared my tarp, sleeping pad and sleeping bag so that I could then concentrate on the time-lapse recordings.
The next day I still had plenty of time to take beautiful pictures of nature, to observe animals and to let the noises and the great light have an effect on me.
The shots were sometimes quite difficult because of the large differences in light.
