Whitetail deer put me down at 3 am near La Corey, AB while riding my Concours in an Iron Butt Competition. Smashed the bike, did the ragdoll down the highway and checked for blood when I stopped rolling. No blood and could still walk. Got a 72 year old rider to help me right the bike and start it. No clutch lever, windshield or left saddlebag. Started the bike and pushed it to a rolling start, snapped the transmission into second gear and rode to Lac La Biche for parts. No parts so the duct tape was used to sort of repair the clutch lever. Left Lac La Biche at 6 am and rode to Nisku. Laid in a hotel bed for a day and rode to Carbon, AB. No clutch most of the time for the 560 km ride. What a crazy ride! Thanks for your story!😀
Last time I was solo riding my 250xcw just instantly died randomly about 30km from the truck.. I looked down and a stick was stuck in near the Carb and it had lifted the choke lever.. It was very relieving to see that i pulled the stick out and the bike fired up again right away but it for sure made me pucker up a bit.
Nice wheelie. No backflips over the logs? Or is that a different toy. My usual rule with solo rides on sleds or bikes is to stay within a couple hours walking distance of the truck. Sometimes I break the rule. As your title suggests, it’s all great until shit happens.
