The crazy thing is he does it out of passion and I could tell when he's emotional and passionate when things dont go his way but his attitude is great kids can learn alot from his attitude and how he does everything to the letter of the law #endeavor

I second that. Thetis was also sea nymph, a goddess of water. A feminine name is always good for boats - so she will be looking after you just as a mother watches over her children. (on the other hand, when I saw you did the jumping-jack on the boat - it reminded me of your long and painful journey to get to that spot and "Jumping Jackie" name came to my mind. :)

You should name it "Styx", because in the Greek mythology Achilles was dipped in the Styx river by his mother when he was a baby and all his body was submerged in it except his heel where she had been holding him. The myth says that his body became invulnerable (invincible) except for that very spot, his heel where he got shot by an arrow and which caused his death. The Styx is a river in the Greek mythology where the world of the living and the dead merge and also the boundary between them. So that would mean you came back from the underworld sailing on the Styx after hurting your Achilles heel. Hopefully stronger than ever!

Use a flasher and fish with bait over lures for best results. Remember when you caught the salmon in the inflatable you used a chrome deep six which I guarantee you acted like a flasher reflecting brightly above the bait. That is what triggers salmon to bite they think its another salmon slashing at bait and the trailing anchovy/herring is the wounded bait. Fish just off bottom about 4 feet. If you want to up the odds and cover more water column use two release clips , one on bottom above ball and one about 45' Also hook the release clip above the cannon ball. Trust me you'll eventually loose a ball and at least your release clip will be saved. Those finned weights come with Cannon I suppose but simple 12 - 15 lb lead balls work best. 8-10 lb ers are too light better for shallow lake fishing. Lastly sell your cannon and get a real Canadian Made SCOTTY downrigger.. There is no comparison.

When you are moving directly into the swells like that, you should be also regulating the throttle. If you punch the gas as you move up the swell and then drop your speed just a bit as you crest, you will crush the wave but stay on plane.
That’s what we do in the coast guard with the small boats as well, and kinda gently bring it to port or starboard into the wave if they are on our sides go up and come down the other side then turn back into the coastline and kinda surf them up and down if we are getting hit in the side which also is really effective

I think you need to relisten to that part. I'm pretty sure he says 3 foot swell, 20 second interval, not 10 foot swell, with single digit intervals. Soooo... NOT those conditions.

When I went salmon fishing on a party boat out thru the golden gate, they called that area under the bridge the potato masher as the waves are totally mixed thru there.
