Dude those last 3 minutes of the video my 6year old son and I were on our feet screaming at the TV “DONT LOSE THAT FISH!”. It was like watching the Super Bowl! Hahaha... Outstanding catch guys!
Hey brother, I just want to say. Out of every outdoors RU-vid I’ve been watching you have been the most inspirational to me. I recently quit my full time job to become a stay at home dad and to work on my business. I did this because of you man, honestly. The way you present your content seems so humble, so “do it yourself” if that makes sense, yet it also screams of knowledge and wisdom, and above all else PASSION. I have passion for angling and for helping others which is why I’m trying to become a guide, and also start a RU-vid channel to sort of document the experience and share what I know so others can go out and feel empowered to continue participating in the natural world. I’ve already started compiling footage so first ep will be out soon. Enough about me though man I just wanted to express my gratitude for you doing what you do, and being real with your community. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been inspired. Tight lines brother, keep on catchin em! Great fish by the way.
Wow that's freaking awesome. Congrats on following your dream! Hope everything goes well and you can build it into a long successful career. Best wish and best of luck to you brother!
Matts approaches fishing more like a hunter. He’s always tweaking and experimenting with different methods to increase his odds of catching something. And it works!
Great job being persistent. Long day on the water but all it takes is one fish and BOOM its an amazing day to remember with your friend! Arent salmon the best to fight, so much fun! Years of watching you and finally I got the courage to start filming out there too! I want to say thank you and I hope one day I troll by you in the salmon grounds!
I was smiling the whole time seeing you back out having a good time on your new boat with a friend and the way he was holding that net gave me more anxiety than any video ive ever watched lol
Awesome catch, just a quick tip though if there are any other boats around DO NOT drive straight through the center of diving birds. Let them do their thing and fish the edges. You'll get some pissed off fisherman on the radio. CHEERS. Good job out there though.
Damn Daniel! Glad you hooked up with your brother from another mother. It's great to see you both having a great time and creating lifelong memories. You guys are a great duo. Let's go!
Never steam straight into a rise, bait ball bird rise, always let your lines out at least 50 yards further and steam well outside the rise then steer you lines over the rise and slow downwhen your lures are in the middle of it then speed up to not more than 6 knots, by running over the rise you will scare the fish
I remember hiw my heart used to thump on the anticipation of bringing in a huge fish. This video brought that feeling back! Time for me to go fishing again! Thanks for the vids!!
I’ve never fished for salmon but you would be a lot better staying on the fringes of the bait and casting into the school. If it’s a school of squid then your kytech would probably be pretty good casting across the bait and working it through the school. Just a tip from a South Florida fisherman
Long time sub here. You are getting really close to a million! Congratulations bud! Thanks for all the uploads i've learned quite a bit over the years.
I’ve been through most of your videos since your last crabbing one! I just bought my first fishing rod and am super excited to get started. Thanks for inspiring me :)
I live in SoCal and saw when you took the small boat to the Coronados. That was badd azz in that size boat. That was an epic fish. Can't wait to see what you catch with the new rig!
So exciting watching you land that huge salmon! For sea sickness I recommend “Sea Bands” you just wear around wrists. What day and time did you launch at Pillar Point ? Was it very crowded at the boat launch?
Wow that excitement you guys had and the reaction, it made me ready to run through a brick wall. I wish I could word that better, but that was a dope brother/fisherman moment right there, we all know that feeling. So much respect to you guys!
Glad to see you back dude, never been much of a fisherman. Used to drop a hook and bobber to catch bluegills with my gramps when I was a kid and you make me want to go out there and try and do some proper fishing.
Bro I love our vids! I'm a bay area guy, i really can appreciate and relate to your fishing experiences. Yum yum yum, that salmon looks AMAZING! Nice work on persisting and chasing that bait! You got it man!
Hi fisherman’s life I was the kid u saw while you were bike riding and my mom said ur name. Near Santiago anyway today is my birthday. I would be the best present if you can wish me happy birthday.
The seasick curse haunts me as well😂I always find taking off all my layers helps cool off your core. Also believe it or not, slamming a couple beers kinda calms the motion sickness. Idk if you drink but it helps me
I feel ya!! We took a charter out of Ft. Bragg and I vomited the whole time. It’s a horrible feeling!! I got my limit of Rockfish and Lingcod. My condolences! Great video though.
"Hours of nothing...." I think not. So many would give a lot to have what you have. You're on your own boat, with a great friend, off shore of one of the most storied coasts on the planet. Check it.
So awesome to see you out there fishing again !! Congrats on the big catch, fun team work . Don't forget the catch and cooks with your famous avocado, miss them 😍🎣🌟
Never cared much about fishing but after watching your videos you really made me wanna fish. I’m heading up to the river this weekend with my uncle who’s always loved fishing and he’s going to teach me. I’m really excited thank you!
Sensory deprivation tanks are way better than being seasick. It's pretty trippy! I tried the one in Oakland, The Float Center. Recommend this place if you've never tried Floating before.
Nice fight! That ish got me anxious! Props to Philosophy D for the patience with the net. The back n forth excitement and celebration was hilarious. I feel it! Lol
Looks like we are going to have to put a lanyard on Mr. D. Thought we was going to get a video on open water rescue tactics. LOL. Tight Lines youngens.
Hell yeah! Like to see you both fishing together. Great video and I know everyone has already said it but I will say it again... great seeing you back and hope that leg is healed up.
