Have you seen the moonlander truck topper? It allows you to sleep elevated (up to a queen size) E to W, while still allowing space for cargo. It's just a topper, but the sides extend beyond the truck bed rails to allow a bed to fit E to W. I need to look into it more, but they seem practical and lightweight (all aluminum).

Awwww thanks a bunch!! Try it at a campground where a lot of people are. Or, join some of the camping groups on FB. That way you’re solo camping, but with people.

I love solo camping. I’ve actually met really great people but they tend to be very respectful. They’ll say hello and then leave you alone. I did park next to three lovely lady tent campers who introduced me to inflatable kayaks (and now I have one, lol) and we had the best time. Fire, music, adult beverages. It was great! It’s my favorite thing to do. I’ll even string up a hammock and take a nap. Remember, in a campground there are always people around somewhere and sound travels especially at night. I’ve never felt unsafe…at least not yet. Oh, I have a camper van btw. 🙂

I’m still praying about it my husband died 2 yrs ago and we were going together he was going to take out trash get gas and kill bugs lol he left me alone and I need a new life

@@anitas580 I’m so sorry to hear this. My husband also passed away 2 years ago. We used to camp all the time. We tent camped, then got a pop up, then bought a 30ft airstream and camped. I even bought a little RPod so I could go camping whenever I wanted to go. Haha! After he passed, I still wanted to camp, but wasn’t super confident about pulling my little RPod anymore, so I decided to add a topper to my truck. So…that’s how and why I started this. Give yourself some time and start small so you can build up your confidence. Prayers going out to you 🙏🏽

I came close to purchasing am rv a couple years ago. Now with gas at 47$$ a gallon,I'm glad I didn't. Been thinking about a van build out, bit you now have me thinking of a truck
