Great video and I love the old school Gorilla proof gear! I Have used Military gear for 50+ years. thanks for keeping the old way alive. Being old now I just got slower it's not a race And it's the entire journey that's fun. 🤗🤗 hugs from this 60+ old lady World explorer.
Great video, keep them coming. I remember spending a January night in Thetford Forest in 1978, standing in a hole with a load of blokes all dressed the same. It got down to -12 degrees and there were cases of frostbite.
Just stumbled across this gem, so good to see how you've grown over the years mate. The gear may have changed a bit but the fundamentals still the same ✅
I think I'm up to date now. When I find a channel I like I binge watch the back catalogue to get up to speed. No gear ads, love it. Getting an old fart now, I think Winter camps will reduce a bit. But I will still do cold night camps on long haul bike packing tours, up to 60 km a day is enough for most tours, but i don't push myself, after all it's supposed to be for pleasure. I used to do over 120 miles a day as a youngster, but I'm not that fella no more. -8? That's pretty nippy for down your way. Good stuff.
Absolutely loving these videos! Top work with the winter setup, the fire wall opposite the tarp to trap heat was bang on! Oh and the knife back story was as cool as the midnight piss! 😂
I can't believe I missed this video. I love Winter camping videos. I live in Australia so this is as close as I get to experiencing it. Looking forward to you doing a few more of these through the upcoming English Winter... hopefully, you will get some decent snow again.
Just found your channel and I’m stoked 10 out of 10. Glad to see you giving youtube a go buddy and your content is real quality, wholesome and enjoyable. Keep up the great work mate PS started right from first video today will let you know when I’m all done and caught up.
Loving this video, I’ve just subscribed as you were subscribed by a work colleague. I’m also ex military from Wattisham and love getting out to Rendlesham forest to check out the old A10 bases. Great stuff so far
This was your best video yet Craig, superb stuff. Keep them coming. Me and Rascal are going to do our first bushcraft trip sometime soon, so we are keenly soaking up your tips and advice. We have got our Haribo Starmix ready to go!
Just subbed fairly local to you...Stoke Ferry way work in Thetford. Good to see a nice cheap bit of cooking ..when I used to tent out I always used to have a good chuck in of anything random in the fridge , couple those Knorr stock pots... good boil up.... always does the job plus a nice hot drink
Brings back fond memories of growing up in Norfolk, it appears nothing changed in 40 years, except for the name it was called backwoodsmanship or something like then, make do camp, a fire and some beer.
I thought “is he playing fire Jenga?” and 30 seconds later you said it looked like Jenga. If you are warm and comfortable the set up was a success. Cheers Mate!
Is that a big larry you've got there mate? I've got two little Larry's I take out with me all the time invaluable pal plus I've got a tale to tell you on the comm. camp at aruba about one I swapped for something with a hippy dude when we were camping down cornwall the other year 2020 in looe that was an epic week no birds just me and jeff what a laff that was atb pal 😀👍
Perfect cold set up I’d say it’s a modified plow point. It is a cool knife don’t know anyone with one like it👍 nice tips in there. Have a great one an see you again ✌️
Morning, I noticed you use zebra head pots, I've got a couple, I've drilled the handle, drilled a small piece of wood and attached it to the lid, Makes them easier to remove Nicked the idea off my uncle
New subscriber here and am delighted I came across your channel. Have gotten frustrated lately with other channels and their just boil water on a little gas stove and pour it into a army ration pack. Proper fire, proper food. Keep it real.
Feel you should be doing a road trip in the t3 camper at some point!! Keep up the good work and nice to see I ain’t the only one who eats haribo and drinks at the same time
That log above your head I would of lashed onto that tree , just incase! And a little cheat I use for fire lighting is those birthday cake candles that don't blow out , come in handy if your shit at fire making like myself
Another great camp by the looks of it mate. I love that setup too. It's called a Plough setup, or that's what I call it anyway and is one of my favourite setups for forest camps. Nice one mate Atb Mike.
Ah good to know mate !!! Thanks for the kind words as always man! I see there was a little editing error but it was already finalised before I realised !
Just found your videos on YT. Subbed! How do I find your complex YT channel? How do I find you on FB or Instagram? Your attitude and way you do things is excellent! Very nice just seeing a good person being themselves. Keep it all going. Don’t stop man, you are a breath of fresh air. I’m a 65 yr old American male that due to health reasons are not able to do the things you do. Living my life vicariously through young men such as yourself. I like your style !
Thanks for the comment and sharing the love mate !! Sorry about your health issues mate. I’m east Anglian bushcraft on Instagram. I do t have Facebook and if you click on my name on this video you can get to my other videos. Appreciate the support mate plenty to come 👊👊
@@EastAnglianBushcraft very close was a bit further north towards East Harling/dower house camp site. After spending all weekend out in the forest between Thetford and Brandon waiting for snow I headed there for Monday and Tuesday night (had work Thursday morning).
Nice vid dude and beautiful spot! Oh jesus that tree at 4:00 it looked alright until the close up lol 😱 That firewood pile at 10:40 is a thing of beauty👍 were you warm enough sleeping in that bag
Great looking modified plough point tarp set up. I've seen so many videos of different people who swear by the plough point, and I have yet to try it...but I will. Do you have an air base close by? I'm pretty sure you got a shot of an F-15 flying over in one of your other videos, and there's always jet noise in the background. I don't mind...been in the USAF since 1986 and the noise still doesn't bother me...heh.
That knife looks like Sheffield sheet steel that they cut from ends of girders. is it legal in UK 4 blades be made from thst r sumthin. seen machetes scythes and the odd parang made from.similar looking metal in shops recently. Was thinking its a loophole r sumthing.
hows the chat with the axe are you aloud that in england? I live in scotland and I'm worried ill end up in the cells if I get caught with a axe even if im planning on chopping. I like your content bro keep it up and you wont be on a tight budge for long.
Can you do a tutorial video on how to make the ropes for. tarps? I have bought a tarp (its a OEX Bush PRO one) but it didnt come with any line to string it up?
Hi guys super serious message here. The policing bill that they are trying to bring out will put an end to your way of life it is to target off griders, gypsies and travellers. We all (including fans) need to contact our local mps publicly (social media) and let them now that we want them to oppose this bill. This is serious guys. This bill will put an end to these channels. Please share this message with as many channels as possible please. Together we have a voice
