this is my favorite kind of video. no incessant blabbering, just show me what you do. No constant "you guys", nobody jamming their faces into the camera every two seconds. The best!
So simple, so quiet, so peaceful... What an amazing treat in todays fast pace society. I enormously enjoyed this video of inner peace. Thanks mate for doing that and for uploading such a great piece of art
Thank you! I'm glad you like this style of video. It is fun to record like this because I can just focus on what I'm doing instead of worrying about narrating the entire time.
It's honestly a great experience, personally where I live the only wildlife to worry about are mountain lions, theyre rare, and dislike humans, so I think I have a higher chance winning the lottery than being attacked lol.
Thank you! It was a lot of work but the kid in me loved every minute of it lol. Rainier was amazing but we ran into a blizzard and only made it half way up the mountain. The video is available on my channel 🙂
Back in the day when I was a lot younger I spent many a night in little places like this while out hunting. Basically the only added things you need is a large tarp type covering big enough. Maybe an old folding hand shovel too. I e made them only like 4 foot wide and 8-10 feet long. Just. Wide enough to be comfortable and cozy in when the tarp is over it. I like to put a center pole in for some height rather than just laying poles etc across level. Makes it easier to create an opening for the flames whem using a pack stove or a little fire. That heat will build up fast folks and if you are not careful set your tarp/canvas/ whatever on fire. Or you can use logs-saplings etc with evergreen boughs only for the roof. It's not as air tight as canvas but it will help keep some heat in
I'm glad to finally talk to someone that has made similar shelters. I did this mostly for fun but a lot of people don't like it. It worked well for me and it sounds like it worked well for you too. I like your ideas though. You have a lot more experience than I do. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your comment!
I love the example of survival in the snow! I would've only done 2 things different. 1, i would've dug down at an angle and used the tree you cut up as a sliding door to cover the entrance incase of predators (depending on where i am). And 2, dug a small vent hole behind the fire and had a vent hole next to my head where i would lay down. Nicely done! . Thanks
Tardaría meses en hacer lo que tú haces, pero sí, una pasada, no sé cómo te caben tantas cosas en la mochila, creo que no podria meter tantas cosas como tú, simplemente impresionante! Saludos desde España 🇪🇦
The no speech part of this video gives a sort of peace to it all, enjoyed watching, well worth the 36 minutes and 44 seconds of my time, I almost feel complied to say thanks??
So many winter camping videos in snow are overblown.... or under-blown. The the conditions they actually camp in are more often a few flakes and an inch or two on the ground. The click bait claims "blizzard" and I fall for it. This video is the real deal. Bravo.
People seem to really respond to these types of videos where the person is completely quiet. A great lesson learned for this inspiring RU-vidr. My Channel will be up and running very soon. Thanks for doing what you do. Much respect. People like us are rare. Greetings from The Adirondack Mountains Of The Great State Of New York.

There is nothing better than spending the summer in the woods, giving your head a rest before studying and returning home to the city, to the noise, the cold, the dirty air, where there are too many people in too limited space.
I love this video. Nothing beats being young and adventurous. How much I wish to be able to do same as you, camp in that icy "tundra". Enjoy your life And be safe! I just subscribed.
I commend you for all the work and ingenuity you put into your shelter, not to mention the extra camera work involved to make such a good film. Seems like an awful lot of work for one night though! LOL! Enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing. Stay warm, safe and healthy.
You should develop a camping service whereby you bring others out to experience a build such as this, while experiencing the outdoors and the cooking involved. I would definitely sign up.
Increíble campamento bajo cero grados 🥶, parece fácil pero hay que estar preparados para todo y en todo momento . Te felicito por hacer una demostración.

I agree, I would be doing that in the Canadian Rockies side of things and would be terrified of some predators there, but I always er on the side of extreme caution

Just subscribed, what a simple but great life. Thank you for sharing these eye opening videos. All the best for the fire and stay safe mate from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you and welcome to the channel! I love adventuring outdoors. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to share my experiences with so many people.
It's the little things. Like early in the video as your walking in. You've set the camera up and you're walking towards it but there's no footprints in the snow so you've clearly scouted the area, then placed the camera, walked back down and then come back up along a different path to get the shot. Your dedication is commendable.
Born and grew up in tropical country makes me really wanna go to visit some cold places and experiencing a camp like this once in a life time. Ur video is amazing, I should thank to YT for recomending me this..keep it up!
Hey, I just watched this whole video and it totally inspired me to go try my own camp and cook, maybe a duo instead. I was just wondering if you are allowed to be taking trees down in the park? Normally the parks have certain rules about that stuff but I’d like to try it myself.
Hello, I’m glad you liked the video! A duo would be nice especially if you are new to this. This forest allows you to cut dead standing trees but some forests only allow you to use fallen dead trees. You just have to look up the rules for the forest you are camping in. Good luck on your adventures!
What i like most is that you actually packed seasoning for your meat and veggies instead of cooking it bare on a flame and just...eating it. I always wondered why other youtubers like yourself didnt do that!
@MaximumThaitao I think most food tastes better with seasoning. A lot of people think I'm out there making survival videos but I'm really just camping lol. Why not bring seasoning right? 😄
First time watching your videos after watching a Steve Wallis video and I’m right at home. Ironically melting away the stress working at a camping store! Feel like I’ve found the next channel to binge watch.
WOW! I've never seen anything like this before Ever and first of all the snow pack never get's that deep here in Mo. and it hasn't been cold enough in years to even ice fish. When you dug that huge hole I was like what the heck is he doing?? Then you built a fire right on top of the snow and cooked a gourmet meal of steak and carrots! Unbelievable. You sir are a true survivalist.
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the video! Occasionally my friends at work make fun of me for doing that lol. They nod at me while we are eating lunch 😂
You are one of my favorites, no stupid dog to worry about, no talking, just right to the action, that I really appreciate, it's an art when done right and you've all but become a professional.
I made/invented what I call “ The Impervious Sleep/Survival System. I’ve tested it twice for 5 nights each. 1st run was Nova Scotia at -27F and Long Island -11F. It is an air bag sleep system in which you trap and heat the air inside. Each heating lasts three hours, so I have to sleep 3, fill it in 4 minutes and 9 seconds and then go back to sleep. No, it’s not worth patenting . It’s just more fun than anything. I sled a large 500 mA/hour rechargeable battery and it’s not practical. It limits how much food one can take. Got a bear visit in Canada. Scary.
Milwaukee makes great equipment. They make a great cordless heat gun. Priceless. I also take two spare/extra batteries. One battery will fill the container about ten times. If it's going to be -25 , I take an extra covering and fill it also. Then I have to sleep with the batteries inside the sleep system. The heat gun blows up the inner "tube" in about 40 seconds. I can literally sleep naked if I wanted to. But I strip down to long John's. I set an alarm to wake up 4 hours after I sleep to make sure I'm not cold, I usually pump it up again (at least the inside) since I'm awake anyways. The nozzle of the Milwaukee fits perfectly. Guess there's nothing genius about it. But there is no greater insulator than air. And it's safe. No fire, no butane, no loss of oxygen. I don't want to die in my sleep. Nor by way of a bear, haha
I found myself thinking about all the extra labor that went into camera set-up and movement to get these shots ontop of building the shelter! Well done.
@GAMING WITH NILOY oh come on that's google dp... Probably that's not she... Definitely she will be more beautiful Ftw love from india... braazilllll laa laaa laaa One of the Fav song of indians
Winter camping, like bushcraft, is much more interesting to watch, for me personally, it is a special atmosphere of nature and what is happening in the frame. Difficult weather conditions create a feeling of comfort when a fire is burning or a stove is heated in a tent or a shelter built.
I am from a country which never snows so watching this feels special. Going to places with snow is top on my bucket list. Thank you for this calming video. I love this concept ❤️

Thank you for sharing! I sprained my ankle really bad and am very sad I couldn’t go on hiking camping. Your video give me the chance to “camp”. It is AWESOME!!!!!
I happened to see this video. It's healing watching it. I think his calm and making everything in the video makes me feel comfortable. ❄☃️It's really good.
