@@kenneykenner8026 A real boss would have: 1) Squashed the beef with Punk & Colt Cabana before finalizing Punk's contract, and not by giving one of them essentially paid time off to be able to have the other backstage and on TV without conflict. 2) If failing to have done #1, actually investigated rumors being leaked from supposedly in the company to dirt sheets about things like Colt being moved to solely ROH shows because of signing Punk, which was one of the first things we, as fans, had heard. 3) Had reliable monitoring of the backstage environment and had agents and locker room leaders that not only acted as mediators when there was tension simmering, but actively went out of their way to ensure things didn't get out of hand. 4) Reprimanded Hangman for the promo he did, and probably let him off with a slap on the wrist - not because he wasn't in the wrong, but because, to the viewer, it looks like Hangman is just trying (and failing) to turn the upcoming match between him and punk a heel vs face ordeal, rather than have two faces in the match. 5) Reprimanded Punk for calling out Hangman a couple weeks later for this promo, off-script, which Hangman couldn't do without derailing the entire show. This was slightly more egregious as a viewer than Hangman's promo. 6, and most of all) Cut Punk's mic about 10 seconds into the Gripe Bomb, excused Punk, had an agent that Punk has even a modicum of respect for isolate him during the scrum, then dealt with Punk, one on one, off-camera. Nobody involved is blameless; none of them behaved as grown adults in a business setting. The "All Elite Daycare" bit Solomonster did months ago was probably the most accurate wrestling spoof I've heard in a decade.

Moxley's point of view is that he was put in a situation where he had no business being in, with a lot on his shoulders, working without a contract, defending the championship every week and elevating it, being undefeated for like a year, only to lose to Punk who just came off an injury. I mean, I don't exactly blame if he didn't want to look lesser than on their first match. Imo, his Rocky idea was actually perfect for the scenario, but there wasn't enough time.

Mox acting like the company that gave him a multi million dollar contract, made him champion, work any show he wanted and (I think) paid for his rehab-somehow owes him one, is some entitled bratty shit. Made worse since he said "I could show up to Summerslam if I felt like it" makes him come off like a kid threatening to do something because he might not get his way. Moxley sounded like a flat out asshole when he said that.

Vince has had instances where he put titles on far more shadier people in the past. Mox, by all accounts, is model professional. But I do agree that Tony is not a very good leader.

Bringing Punk back is best for business but putting the title on a guy without a contract is stupid. Putting the title on a nobody like MJF is stupid. Putting the title on an injured CM Punk was stupid too, although if he's on your roster you do need him to hold the title and pass the torch to somebody

Exactly. I like everyone involved with all this mess, but Punk didn’t seem to have a problem until he feuded with a member of the Elite. Punk was wrestling a bunch of young lower card guys and selling for them on Rampage. That was beneath him, as hot as he was when he first came to AEW. Punk doesn’t have to feud the Elite. Just let him feud with the young guys.

That's what really rubbed me the wrong way in the interview. After everything AEW has done for Moxley from multi millon dollar contract, multiple title runs and letting him work anywhere he wants (didn't they also pay for his rehab too?), Moxley is seriously acting like the company owes him one? I also find it rich that Moxley after all his bitching about Lesnar not wanting to do his ideas, mox basically said we are only doing what I want to do-just like Lesnar. Mox Also inadvertently really painted the company in a bad light by talking about how he has never dealt with some much drama. I know he says most guys are good as a rebound comment but between that and basically admitting he wasn't under contract and could basically show up at SummerSlam if he wanted to (Not that I think he was going to ever do it) really made the company look bush league.

Let's not forget the rocky 3 idea was for Punk to go over anyway, Mox has always been the heart of aew from day 1 and he was the game changer to their rise in 2019 to date The reason why he stayed a free agent is because he used his working months for rehab and felt obliged to return the support of TK If it is any one who nearly destroyed Aew it's Punk, getting injured during an entrance after winning it from a work horse as Adam page. The storyline would only have worked if they gave it time to develop. In the movie, Rocky doesn’t get a rematch with Clubber a week later. It takes him months to clear his head, reflect, and come back stronger than ever. Punk’s rematch with Moxley should have been at Full Gear at the earliest.

Don't forget that Mickey was carefully selecting opponents for all of Rocky's title defenses out of fear for Rocky's health after the beating he got from Apollo during their rematch. I don't think so. Wether people want to accept it or not, the Bucks and especially Omega still have their appeal. What would have likely happened is they would have been forced to make a decision: give up their EVP status if they want to continue to wrestle or keep their EVP status but never wrestle in the company ever again.

The thing is All Out would have arguably done better if they basically didn't give away their biggest money match for free two weeks before the show. In the long run doing that squash for a match that big so close to a ppv was foolish.

My theory (and it's just that) is that Punk is coming around to the idea that it was maybe Jericho who leaked the "info". Because the sources (plural) denied the bucks talking to them months ago, and now all of a sudden, Punk is bashing Jericho who seemingly had nothing to do with any of this. Wouldn't it be a shame if all this happened and the EVP's actually had nothing to do with it? If that's the case, you would also understand why they were so upset with his comments on that night. Again, just speculating here.

Yep. Punk may be an asshole, but it's becoming clear as day that punks has a lot of rightful gripes against the company. Also yeah AEW needs punk a lot more then he needs them. The fact is the product is ice cold right now The quality's gone down and the tickets and ratings have noticeably decline. Whether people like it or not punk gave them a much-needed star power. Jericho is delusional if he thinks AEW will thrive without punk. AEW may not be dying anytime soon but they certainly are declining badly.
