I wasn't even aware that Tyrus was still wrestling until I heard this story. I thought the exact same thing about Trevor Murdoch when I heard that he was wrestling for Corgan's NWA. Seriously, that promotion sounds like a dumping ground for wrestlers I haven't heard about in at least a decade. I wonder who Tyrus is going to defend his belt against next...Sim Snuka? David Otunga, maybe? That one guy who Vickie Guerrero used to manage for like three weeks back in 2009 and lost all the time?

Personally, if he wants to stay in wrestling and go somewhere else, I say go back to Impact because his wife is their and also, he could be the main event throwback that the company could use when Bully is done with his stint in there.

My girlfriend and I always say that when we watch NWA (Which we do enjoy as a time waster) that it feels like everyone is old or out of shape or just going through the motions. It honestly feels like it's a promotion where careers go to coast or die. I was thinking there might actually be quite a few people in AEW that I can see being absolutely perfect in NWA (and probably be used better) but the direction NWA has been heading in....yikes. At least sometimes TNA was so bad it was good, but NWA right now feels like it's not even at that level. It's just cold and has no enthusiasm. Regardless of how bad WWE, AEW, Impact or whatever get, they at least SOUND like what they are putting out is a big deal.

Jeff Jarrett is reportly negotiating with Nick Aldis & Mickie James on signing with AEW and they would both be working on rebuilding Ring of Honor. I have a feeling the Billy Corgan will sell the NWA to Jeff Jarrett & Conrad Thompson. There is probably a reason Billy Corgan was unsuccessful in purchasing TNA Wrestling, a couple of years ago.

Here's how I'd rank the landing spots for nick aldi's right now: 1. Wwe: in terms of needing main event star power nick aldi's has it, I wouldn't mind nick aldi's vs roman reigns for the universal title or Gunther for the IC title and if cody gets the wwe title he doesn't have to hold it for long and by summerslam Aldis vs Cody for the wwe championship could work, and if you bring aldis you get mickie James also to help the women's division 2. Impact wrestling: who says nick can't go back home, not that impact is what it used to be and they have their flaws to but he has the history 3. New Japan: Aldis vs Okada for the Iwgp world heavyweight championship sounds like a dream match to me or Aldis vs Tanahashi or Aldis vs Jay white or Aldis vs Ospreay maybe a G1 Apperance and if they ever revive the Iwgp intercontinental championship he'd be the perfect person to bring it back 4. Aew/roh: I only have them last because their roster is to stacked and with mjf as the next world champion the only other world title he can get is the roh title so maybe aldis vs Jericho or aldis vs danielson or aldis vs Claudio would be good. Now if you wanna fix the TNT championship have aldis have a TNT championship run like he had with the NWA championship, let him carry it and act like it's the greatest title in the world, Jay lethal proved in ring of honor the man makes the belt and his run with the roh TV title was outshining the world title and he even held both. Also he's a great technical wrestler so the roh pure title would be perfect for him and if he brings Davey boy Smith jr and Doug Williams you get the trio "British Commonwealth Connection" so maybe British Commonwealth Connection Vs Blackpool Combat Club A battle of the BCC's

If the NWA can survive Shane Douglas throwing the title down, they can survive this.

I liked Powerrr. For a brief period there before covid in late 2019/early 2020 they established a good niche product. It wasn't on the level of say Lucha Underground but it was different enough to at that point in time you could say it was a unique hour show (of mostly characters and promos) that was different than anything else that was out at the time. I enjoyed watching at work. Then covid happened followed shortly by the Marty situation. Hasn't been the same since.

As someone who enjoyed NWA Power when it first came on RU-vid, it is kind of sad to hear the brand turn out the way it did.

Another thing that hurt NWA was Marty Scurll's skeletons. 2K20 they were really prepping him to become their next World Champion (dethroning Aldis; and Aldis was on ROH TV quite often). Once Scurll was banished, that's when the NWA went into the direction of booking ex WWE midcarders.

It’s a shame because the original NWA power run was great but now it’s almost completely lost the plot. Its "Wrestling the way its mean to be" but it features A Gimp with his tongue out, a goofy satanist, a magician, a cheap cash in of a previous deceased stars gimmick, a romance novel model, a masked wrestler with no body character or wrestling ability at a star level. Many matches feature heels vs heels for no reason so no one would care about them. An worst still they choose Tyrus over Nick Aldis and make him champ.

Tyrus is a great champion especially when he's advertising the title on National Television something NWA itself hasn't been able to do. My only complaint is that he does need to get his ass in shape

The NWA revival was a long shot to begin with. People wanted an alternative, but they also wanted something new. The NWA has been a dead brand for 30 years and they're still trying to play off nostalgia because its all they have. Once AEW started, the fans had their new thing to themselves. NWA was a lesser production than Impact and even ROH so it was never going to take off. That and the roster pretty much being the scraps of what's left after WWE, NXT, Impact, ROH, AEW and even New Japan got to everyone. The NWA really just doesn't have a place in 2022. Just like how it didn't have a place in 1992. Really, Corgan should just end the NWA and change it to Georgia Championship Wrestling or something like that only not that because it would just be more nostalgia bait.
